A: Sometimes deformed, but still usable. Use pex for all the plumbing projects

A: I do welding and brazing so found other uses for the 1 or 2 rejects found. Had problems keeping the crimps perpindicular on the tubing especially in awkward places so switched to the crimps with the red plastic cap on the end. Perpindicular and correct depth!

A: It's not normal, but it will occasionally happen. Yes, it's safe to reshape to fit over PEX tubing and then crimp. If it gives you piece of mind, please return these crimp rings to your local store for replacement.

A: I give mine a partial crimp to oval them out to keep them in place so they don’t slide around. The final size after crimping is the critical part.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, they are. I like these crimp rings as they stay in place and keep the proper distance from the end of the fitting and the end of the pipe.
Of course that assumes you can fit the M-18 crimper into the space with the fitting/pipe...
Yes, the M18 is fun

A: If you are using jaw heads that are specifically designed for F1807 (Crimp Style) PEX applications, then yes.

A: APOLLO 1/2 IN. COPPER PRO CRIMP RING is interchangeable with standard crimp rings. I used them in tight spaces where it's difficult to see the position of the ring before crimping. Now they're all I use. The collar also assures the ring will crimp perpindicular to the tube. Hey, that M18 looks like more fun than my hand lever tool ;- )

Answer This Question
A: These copper crimp rings may be removed by using the Crimp Ring Removal Tool to cut through the ring on either side. This should allow you to remove your fitting from the pipe and reuse it as desired. Please let us know at (888) 229.2874 if you have any other questions that we may be able to help answer.

A: Since the cap is next to the fitting and not where you would cut off the PEX pipe to salvage the fitting, yes, you can remove it with the crimp cutting tool.

A: I don't think so. I've never tried to remove them? Once you bend these, they're done!

A: Pro Crimp rings are designed to maintain their position on the pipe without the need to hold them in place as you make a crimp. They stay in place and position the crimp the proper distance from the end of the pipe. Feel free to call us if you need further clarification at 1.888.229.2874.
