A:  Thank you for asking the question and thanks to the person who answered. I bought them based on your info and stayed with the Amer. Standard (mine) color Bone and as stated, perfect match. The answer made it easy for me to install myself. Even though i"m pretty good at figuring a lot of this stuff out, I think it would be nice American standard placed the instructions in with the item.

A:  Remove the nut on the bolt and place the plastic bottom on to the bolt/base then put the bolt on but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN or you’ll bend the plastic bottom plate that the cap snaps onto. Good Luck!

A:  Mary Ann, These bolt covers are for the base of the toilet. It doesn't have anything to do with the seat.
