Q:Just had this installed and the crosses turn backwards, that is clockwise to turn on. and counter clockwise to turn off on both sides. Was it intended to work this way?

A: The cartridge is interchangeable so they will work either way. You will need to remove the spring clip and move the washer 90 degrees and replace the spring clip. They will work the correct way then.
