A:  I have ordered this same product and it worked out fantastic. Once installed looks like real wood beam. This will work for your cathedral ceiling for sure. We used it on our flat ceiling to enhance our farm historic farm house. Can't go wrong.

A:  Thanks for your inquiry. No. This beam is to be used for interior use. It does not contain any UV inhibitor to protect it from the sun rays. However, it can be protected with a UV inhibitor paint if you need to use for exterior.

A:  Thanks for your inquiry. The Faux beam is a "U" shape or 3 sided. We have seen it done but it is best to ask a licensed electrician since it would depend on the type of fixture whether it generates a lot of heat or not. The material is High density Polyurethane.

A:  Secure small wooden blocks on the ceiling beams then nail the Faux beam to the blocks.

A:  Thanks for your inquiry. Screw wood blocks to the ceiling every 2 to 3 feet. Apply a Polyurethane construction adhesive to the beam and hold the beam up to the ceiling over the wood blocks. A:  No extra end caps available. This beam comes capped on 1 end.

A:  This beam comes with closed end which is your end cap. The other end is open. No extra end caps available.

A:  Thanks for your inquiry. Finished faux beams are not paintable. However, if you need to paint or stain your own beam, we recommend our Unfinished ones.

A:  We would not recommend it to be used for that application since it is designed for indoor and decorative use.
