A: Hi, Welldigger - This product might work based on the specifics of your well. The deeper the well, more head pressure is placed on the pipe. A typical well has about 60 psi, but that number increases as the depth increases. Much deeper wells can exert over 250-300 psi at depth. We would advise you check with a professional as to the specifics of your particular well.

Q:Can you slip a 1" OD steel pipe into this and clamp it and it will not leak? Only minimal head pressure on the line going to a cattle water trough.

A: Yes! If this is the size used currently for your well or if you are setting up a brand new well the you'll want to match the requirements of the pump used in your system. I currently use this pipe for my lawn and garden irrigation. I used the same pipe for my well though it was 1-1/4" dia.
