A:  I have two of these clocks, one in the office and the other in the garage. Living in Las Vegas, the garage clock is subject to extreme temperature variations from 28 degree to 117 degrees. The clock range is -40 degrees to 140 degrees. If the clock were mounted outside away from direct sunlight or wet weather it should function properly.

A:  Absolutely. That's where mine is hung.

A:  I have had it for 2 years outdoors, under a 8 inch overhang. I take it in in winter.Been good so far.

A:  Yes. I think They recommend a few conditions like not in direct sunlight.

A:  The thermometer is essentially in a greenhouse created by the front glass. If you can keep it in complete shade it might do OK, but I think even brighter ambient light will cause it to read high.

A:  The battery is for the clock only. The gauges do not require a battery.

A:  No, the back is open, therefore no weather resistant capacilities at all.

A:  No. I bought one at home depot and the batt cover was missing. Went back to HD for an exchange and checked every one on the shelf (4) and they were all missing.

A:  Didn't even pay attention. Could it be they meant the battery cover and not a cover over the entire back. It's rated for outdoor and I have it hanging on a screen porch so, time will tell.
