A: This is a fairly small fan so depending on the area you are looking to ventilate, probably a few degrees

A: It keeps my Florida shed circulating with outside ambient air. It won't cool any more than what the outside temperature is. If it's 80 degrees outside it will be 85 or so inside the shed.

A: It all depends on the area size you are exhausting as it does pull the heat out S I have 2 of them on my side porch with little to no installation and a portable A%/C to cool a 10 by 35 ft. Room when it's 115 out side room gets to 83 insidie.

A: There is no thermostat that comes with this unit. It starts when there is adequate voltage supplied from the solar panel.
I would suggest adding a firestat such as:
Maxx Air10-Amp Programmable Thermostat with Firestat
Internet# 206561081
Model# XXFIRESTAT
Store SKU# 1001585778
This allows you to set a low temperature cutout and will stop the fan in case of a fire.

A: It's not about temp; it's about how bright the sun is to generate enough amperage to run the fan.
by|Apr 8, 2022
A: Activated by the sun, not temperature. Ours has run whenever the threshold of lumens is reached. Every day, even in the midst of winter.

Q:Does this work with the bathroom and kitchen vents? Or is it a replacement for the turbines?
by|Nov 14, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: If it is large enough for your needs, it would work, however as most range hoods and bathroom vents have a fan in the the solar fan in this may be redundant.
These vents are not replacements for turbines.

Q:Will this fit on the can my roof has for std turbines ( direct replacment) and what is the wind rating as i live in

Answer This Question
A: Yes, they will fit on your existing turbine bases.
While we have sold thousands of these over the years, we don't have a Dade County approval on the Turbine Retrofit models because we cannot warranty the base, as we are not the manufacturer

A: This enclosure house a fan that is about the size of one found cooling a desktop computer. I did like the design, as it is sturdy, and I would think it could handle, if installed correctly 100+ mph winds.
As is is not a turbine so there should be no issue like that experienced by rooftop turbines.
My suggestion for a solar fan is the: QuietCool - 1,486 CFM - Solar Attic Gable Fan - With 40W Solar Panel .. if you have gables..

A: I installed it on the roof of my shed 4 years ago and it still runs fine. We get a lot of sunshine here so it runs a lot and does an ok job. But not so much on cloudy days.

A: I mounted this fan on a 8 x 6 ft shed about 3 years ago and have had no problems. The solar cells face directly south and receive sunlight year round. The fan runs whenever the sun is out and is very effective in removing the hot air. I originally bought 2 to mount on the shed bit the one fan does the job quite well. I am very satisfied with the effectiveness and performance.

A: Each fan lowers the temp during the Summer. The more sun the more it runs. I used 2 on a 600 sq ft roof and lowered attic temp from 160 to 130 peak temps. Also added 2 open vents on sides to help circulate air thru attic.
