A: It does not store water like a traditional 50 gal. water heater so there is nothing to freeze after you drain the pipes in the house. I know nothing about RV antifreeze and don't see how anyone would put antifreeze in a water line. Isn't it poisonous?

A: 220, for sure. 8500 watts / 240 volts = 35 amps. This takes an amazing amount of electrical energy.

Q:So does this unit replace the traditional water heater or do you need to buy something to go with it?

A: It replaces the water heater tank so you have hot water when you need it, instead of the tank unit having to constantly run to heat the water when no one is using hot water. Its a real energy saver. Mu plumber installed it so I don't really know what other stuff he needed to hook up everything, but I would think the usual pipes and fittings would be needed.

A: This product is designed to be installed at the point of use, it is not intended to be a replacement for an entire home unit.

A: It is a small unit designed for a single bath or under the kitchen sink. I think you will need a larger unit to heat the water for a whole house. If you get the right sized unit it will take the place of the traditional water heater and save the space.

A: Mine is hooked up to handle my dishwasher, kitchen and bathroom sink and tub, and my front load washer. As long as your not using everything at the same time, there should be no problem. Since a front load washer uses less water, I may not have a problem, but the dishwasher may use a lot. Common sense tells me not to take a shower, wash dishes, and do a load of laundry at the same time.
