Answer This Question

A:  No absolutely not you can put in a garage or utility closet but cant get it wet. And you will need to winterize it if not installed in a temperature controled environment.

A:  Sorry, I don’t know. I use mine in my bathroom for the sink and I love it. It doesn’t look like it’s designed for outdoors but maybe if it were encased in a shed, it might be ok.

A:  I’m not sure if it can be used outdoors. I have it installed in an out building.

A:  Augmenting Mikes response, 75' 6/2 romex, $121, two ole 40 amp breaker, $9, some connectors, pipe as needed, minor. The real question deals with how the unit deals with the water in the lines, at ambient temp, so say 65-75 degrees f, to the transitional temperature of the water as hot hits the. For these units to work in my climate, (Cleveland OH) winter incoming water can be as cold as 35 F. letting the water heater I have (a sunk cost)_ run at 75-85 degrees makes for an effective system. I wish this power (wattage) came with a 3/4" npt connection, There would be an ideal point of primary tank temperature, plus boost temp for an economical system, at the low temperature setting on the tank, there would be virtually no standby losses, especially when compared to 120-125 F. So, back to the specific question, would this unit be able to handle the initial ambient water, the without scalding, boost the tank temperature. I do realize that the flow rate possible at the start would notr be as high as when primary tank water has reached the tankless heater.

A:  This unit may be used with a an existing water heater, however it requires a 240 volt circuit which would have to be installed to operate it, the cost would be prohibitive. Anywhere from 500 to 1500 dollars or more to add the electrical circuit to operate it. Mike

A:  I live in central PA and this handles my shower, kitchen and bathroom sinks without any help. Water is as hot as you set it. This unit replaced my 40 gallon hot water heater and has saved me a bundle of money in the year that I have been using it.

                    Answer This Question

A:  You can throw away your hot water heater altogether and save the money in electric with its constant running to keep the water in the tank hot. And, you never have to worry about the common problem with hot water heaters of having them leak or explode. This is not only the best buy I ever made, but is good for the environment by saving energy and I don't need an enormous amount of space like a traditional water heater. Instead of a huge 50 gal. hot water heater stuffed into a closet or basement, this can be easily concealed under the sink or inside a cabinet. This unit makes enough hot water to run the kitchen and bathroom sinks, dishwater and shower in my mothers suite. Just don't run everything at once, otherwise you will need a larger unit like I have to accommodate my washing machine, kitchen with dishwasher and two full bathrooms upstairs. This unit was not expensive to buy and has already paid for itself in less then a year. Water is as hot as you want it because its adjustable. I recently turned mine up a little so I could also have hotter water in my kitchen sink. It took less then 5 min to make the change. I have the unit in mothers suite on a lower setting so she doesn't get scalded. She has Alzheimer's and has trouble mixing the water temperature on the faucets and shower, so its a matter of safety for her to have it lower. This may NOT be a job for a DYI Newbie, so get a pro to install this. Even with his cost, its still worth every penny. I recommend these to everyone with a home or even a rental apartment to save money. Its a no brainer.

A:  I would use 3/8 copper insulated and tie into water heater if possible . Unless you can run electric easy and install unit in crawl space .

A:  Yes, as long as the water line doesn't freeze, its good to go anywhere, even under the sink.

A:  yes . it will give you very warm water but not hot as the GPM is not enough . You could go to a larger unit . I live in florida and the water is never lower than 72 degrees at supply

                      by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, very well. I replaced my two hot water heaters with these to take care of my whole house. My mother lives on the first floor in her own apt. and has one of these as well. Mine has the washer, bathroom sink and shower, kitchen sink, and dishwasher hooked up to it and as long as I am not taking a shower at the same time as I am running the washer, or dishwasher, there is plenty of hot water. Since I have a well, the water pressure is not as much as a city system. I don't really need to do all those things at the same time anyway. Its the same concept as not over loading the electrical system by using the air conditioner and then turning on the toaster oven or hair dryer when they are all on the same circuit. You can get larger units to accommodate more hook ups which supply more hot water per minute. This small one is made for putting one in each high traffic bathroom or large kitchen, or a kitchen and bathroom. They are small and can fit under cabinets in the kitchen. A large family who is constantly washing dishes and have a greater need for hot water would need a larger unit. A Good plumber can calculate your needs. Its still WAY better then any hot water heater. No leaks, no running out of water when the tank is empty, and no waste of electricity or gas having it run constantly to maintain set temperature even when your not using ANY hot water. This has paid for itself in just a few months. I don't cringe every time I see the electric bill in the mailbox now. HAHA
