Answer This Question

A:  Its a poison ant food, probably not safe to be eaten

by|Apr 9, 2020

A:  Cats don't bother it. Can't say if dogs are attracted to it.

by|Apr 11, 2020

A:  Not if they eat it. Keep them away after you put it around the house.

    by|Apr 9, 2020

A:  On the label it says to not put it where any pets can get to it.

    by|Apr 15, 2020

A:  Hi - As long as directions are followed correctly according to what is on the label, we do not expect any harm to come to people or pets. Thanks!

      by|Apr 8, 2020

A:  No. If you use the product make sure your pet is inside for at least 3 hrs after application to allow time for ants to take the granules to their nest. Be sure not to over pour amount or the wait time will increase to let your pet outside.

        by|Jul 22, 2021

A:  No, they can eat it and get sick

A:  No, this will not harm birds.

        by|Nov 12, 2019

A:  I live in the mts. and have lots of birds hanging out at my house. Don’t see any signs of it hurting/killing birds.

          by|Jun 4, 2020

A:  According to the Safety Data Sheet - https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/71/71318f46-b5d8-41e5-ad97-33421d2baddf.pdf - it is extremely toxic to fish and very bad for humans but no mention of pets. That said, I have a lot of birds around my house and they will try to eat most anything and this is a corn based poison that gets spread on top of the ground - like bird seed. To keep the birds and other critters from accidentally ingesting ant killer, use any of the perimeter sprays available like HomeDefense or the Ant Bait Stake style poisons like https://www.homedepot.com/p/compare/?errorURL=ProductAttributeErrorView&langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&prodComp_0=203031383&prodComp_1=307973438&plpUrl=%2Fs%2Fant%252520stakes%2525208%252520pack%3FNCNI-5&keyword=ant%20stakes%208%20pack

A:  If you put it out when ants are present ALL the bait will be taken back to their queen.. no problems.

                    by|Sep 17, 2019

A:  This has never been a problem for me. You can always check the mound to ensure it is gone, but keep in mind when it rains they go deeper into the mound for the water is there. The mounds are typically dead by the next day after use.

A:  Nothing if over 24 hours later - reapply if less or if ants are still visible a week later Per: https://www.amdro.com/all-products/ant-block-home-perimeter-ant-bait-granules "Do not apply when the ground or grass is wet, rain is expected within 24 hours, or temperatures are below 50°F."

A:  Although i dont have any pets, the birds and squirrels around where the bait is there is no harmed to them. But surely i can say that, that Ant Bait is the super best i have ever seen, just a little and all the Ants are eliminated. No more Summer Ants ever. I bought mine about 2 years ago, i tried everything before and nothing worked with hundreds of swarm of ants seemed to be having a party, until i found Ant Block Bait Online at Home Depot. I tried it and no more Ants party to this day.

A:  No this is not safe for pets. When using keep your pets inside for 24-48 hrs after sprinkling to allow time for ants to pick up granules and take back to their nests. This can in large amounts kill a cat or dog. If they est small amounts will make them sick and require vet attention. I use early and keep cats indoors. The ants take the granules to their nest so in a day or so it's gone from your yard. Just dont pour a huge pile out there and you'll be fine.

It can take a while to show results but keeping them away is pretty simple. If the nest is in your neighbors they will take the bait back to the nest and kill them also so you are helping out your neighbors also.

I think the good for 3 months is that the kill is good for 3 months. You will use what is left in the container then so no worry. I have used this product for years around my yard. It is wonderful and does a great job. I never have ants and rarely have any other bugs.

Nests are usually gone within a week if not sooner, only have to retreat for very large nests that only get partially killed. If you buy, make sure you treat within 2 ft of central nest.

It doesn't require a lot of it to kill them. Sprinkle lightly around your house and see what happens. I even put a little inside where they have been coming in and within a few days I can't find an ant anywhere. Re-apply on a regular basis as needed. I put some down about once a month in the summer. One 24oz bottle will last me 2 years.
