A: Its a poison ant food, probably not safe to be eaten
A: Cats don't bother it. Can't say if dogs are attracted to it.
A: Not if they eat it. Keep them away after you put it around the house.
A: On the label it says to not put it where any pets can get to it.
A: Hi - As long as directions are followed correctly according to what is on the label, we do not expect any harm to come to people or pets. Thanks!
A: No. If you use the product make sure your pet is inside for at least 3 hrs after application to allow time for ants to take the granules to their nest. Be sure not to over pour amount or the wait time will increase to let your pet outside.
A: No, they can eat it and get sick
A: No, this will not harm birds.
A: I live in the mts. and have lots of birds hanging out at my house. Don’t see any signs of it hurting/killing birds.
A: According to the Safety Data Sheet - https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/71/71318f46-b5d8-41e5-ad97-33421d2baddf.pdf - it is extremely toxic to fish and very bad for humans but no mention of pets. That said, I have a lot of birds around my house and they will try to eat most anything and this is a corn based poison that gets spread on top of the ground - like bird seed. To keep the birds and other critters from accidentally ingesting ant killer, use any of the perimeter sprays available like HomeDefense or the Ant Bait Stake style poisons like https://www.homedepot.com/p/compare/?errorURL=ProductAttributeErrorView&langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&prodComp_0=203031383&prodComp_1=307973438&plpUrl=%2Fs%2Fant%252520stakes%2525208%252520pack%3FNCNI-5&keyword=ant%20stakes%208%20pack
A: Hi Rusty, The Amdro Home Perimeter Ant Bait is Very low toxicity, no harm to birds is expected. Thank you.
A: I am not sure but you can call the manufacturers and they might be able to help you. I haven't seen any dead birds.
A: It still works.
A: It still works, as long as it does not dissolve
A: Hi Cr, Please contact our customer service department toll-free at 1-800-265-0761 so we may assist you further. Thank you.
A: I used mine all up so can't read the directions but, they give you a time frame for rain. You need to read the label
A: If you put it out when ants are present ALL the bait will be taken back to their queen.. no problems.
A: This has never been a problem for me. You can always check the mound to ensure it is gone, but keep in mind when it rains they go deeper into the mound for the water is there. The mounds are typically dead by the next day after use.
A: Nothing if over 24 hours later - reapply if less or if ants are still visible a week later Per: https://www.amdro.com/all-products/ant-block-home-perimeter-ant-bait-granules "Do not apply when the ground or grass is wet, rain is expected within 24 hours, or temperatures are below 50°F."
A: I would reapply after any rain.
A: Not if they eat it. Keep it away from pets
A: This product is toxic to fish and is considered a environmental hazard. Product recommendation states no people or pets should come in direct contact or through difts and to keep pets out of the area during application.
A: Not sure ...I believe it is but I threw my container away and I don't have pets!
A: If you put this down as a barrier I suggest you keep your precious pet out of the area or at least supervise them.
A: Lord No - it's poison
A: Hi Digi, As long as directions are followed according to what is on the label, we do not expect any harm to come to pets. Please be sure that pets do not ingest the bait. Thank you!
A: No, keep it away from pets
A: Although i dont have any pets, the birds and squirrels around where the bait is there is no harmed to them. But surely i can say that, that Ant Bait is the super best i have ever seen, just a little and all the Ants are eliminated. No more Summer Ants ever. I bought mine about 2 years ago, i tried everything before and nothing worked with hundreds of swarm of ants seemed to be having a party, until i found Ant Block Bait Online at Home Depot. I tried it and no more Ants party to this day.
A: None of these are pet friendly - if you use it you should keep your pet away. I think there is more information on the package.
A: Not really. I put it in the front where the dogs don't go
A: Per: https://www.amdro.com/all-products/ant-block-home-perimeter-ant-bait-granules "The active ingredient in Amdro Ant Block Home Perimeter Ant Bait is hydramethylnon, which has very low toxicity to people, animals and birds. When used according to the label we wouldn't expect any problems to your dogs."
A: Put it down and no more ants!!! Great product!!
A: I would not let your pets near it
A: I would keep my pet away from the area you are treating. Plus check the label to see if there are any other warnings.
A: No this is not safe for pets. When using keep your pets inside for 24-48 hrs after sprinkling to allow time for ants to pick up granules and take back to their nests. This can in large amounts kill a cat or dog. If they est small amounts will make them sick and require vet attention. I use early and keep cats indoors. The ants take the granules to their nest so in a day or so it's gone from your yard. Just dont pour a huge pile out there and you'll be fine.
A: Hi Ted, As long as directions are followed correctly according to what is printed on the label, we do not expect any harm to come to people or pets. Please allow any dust to settle from the application before letting pets back into the area. Thank you.
A: Yes
A: Not sure but I don’t see any ants after application.
A: Per the label - This product controls carpenter ants, Texas Leafcutting ants, Argentine ants, acrobat ants, bigheaded ants, cornfield ants, crazy ants, field ants, fire ants, ghost ants, harvester ants, odorous house ants, pavement ants, Pharoah ants, and thief ants.
A: Hi Dstellstan, Yes, it is labeled to kill Texas leafcutting ants. Thank you.
A: This product has been effective for me in keeping the ants away from the house. I was advised by a representative the way this works is it has a pheromon which attracts the ants and is carried inside the nest as they find it very enticing .i am sure it works on all types of ants.
A: Not sure, but check the label - it might say if it kills them or you can call the manufacturer and ask them.
A: This worked well blocking carpenter & small brown ants from my house,
A: It should, but you may have to treat more than once.
A: Hi Conniption, The Amdro Ant Block is labeled to kill Argentine ants. For a severe infestation, we recommend using the ant bait stations as well along the perimeter indoors for double the protection. Thanks!
A: Yes it will. I suggest spreading some of it all over your yard in a regular basis. It can take a while to show results but keeping them away is pretty simple. If the nest is in your neighbors they will take the bait back to the nest and kill them also so you are helping out your neighbors also.
A: I don't know about that kind of ants but I put it LL round my house and don't have any problems. But if you have pets make sure if you use this put it in a place were your pets can't get to it.
A: I have been using the same bait that I bought a while ago and it is still working. You might want to contact AMDRO direct and see what they have to say.
A: I had opened container and used, stored remaining in container to next season and used them. The granules you sprinkle outside will be effective for approx. 3 months
A: I would think you could use it anytime. However we put it all around our house at the same time and it keeps ants from coming in for 3 months.
A: Last 3 months after applying to area, I have seen it last up to 6 mos. Stored in cooler spot no direct sun.
A: Hi Tonyastro, Once the Ant Block Home Perimeter is applied, it will kill insects for up to 3 months. The remainder will have a shelf life of up to 3 years. Thanks!
A: I wouldn't plan on them lasting forever but they do last in the container. I think the good for 3 months is that the kill is good for 3 months. You will use what is left in the container then so no worry. I have used this product for years around my yard. It is wonderful and does a great job. I never have ants and rarely have any other bugs.
A: Very good.
A: I have found that this works more than one season. I spot treat and this works great. Nests are usually gone within a week if not sooner, only have to retreat for very large nests that only get partially killed. If you buy, make sure you treat within 2 ft of central nest.
A: Amdro is reapplied every 90 days for continued protection. The granules, kept in the proverbial cool dry place, should maitain their effectiveness for a year after opening, but YMMV.
A: I am not sure, but I think B. But it only lasts until it gets wet. Then it doesn't work.
A: YES YOU JUST NEED TO LOCATE THE MOUND (HOLE) AND APPLY JUST 1 TEASPOON RIGHT AT OPENING..AND STAND BACK AND WATCH THE MAGIC
A: Yes, this product is effective on ants of all types.
A: Hi Pestman - Yes, our Amdro Perimeter Ant Bait is labeled to kill white foot ants. Thank you.
A: They claim that is does. It kills a lot of ants and I haven't found any ant that it didn't kill. It doesn't require a lot of it to kill them. Sprinkle lightly around your house and see what happens. I even put a little inside where they have been coming in and within a few days I can't find an ant anywhere. Re-apply on a regular basis as needed. I put some down about once a month in the summer. One 24oz bottle will last me 2 years.
A: White-footed ants are one of the species listed as being effective against on the container.
A: YES... THEY ARE DYING TO GET AT IT (get it)?
A: Don't know what a PHARAOH ant looks like but it killed every ant that was on my property. I think it kills 27 different ant types.
A: Yes
A: Hi Pconroy, Amdro Ant Block is labeled to kill Pharaoh ants. Thanks.
A: Yes, this product is rated to kill Pharaoh ants.
