Answer This Question

A:  Sprinkle it in the path that the ants use. Regardless where they are. They will take it back to the colony. Takes a couple of days before they’re gone.

A:  Hello, we recommend you to apply Amdro Ant Block around the paver brick patio's perimeter. The use rate for around structures can be found on the product label. Thank you.

A:  It melts a bit, but usually lasts through at least one rain here.

          by|Apr 25, 2023

A:  Amdro's website directs the user to not apply it if rain is expected within 24 hours. It's cornmeal bait that will melt and not be effective at attracting the ants.

A:  Hello, AMDRO Ant block should not be applied to wet ground or grass, or if rain is expected within 24 hours, or when temperatures are below 50 F. Avoid leaving the bait exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. During hot weather, application is best performed in the early morning or early evening when temperatures are cooler and ants are active. Thank you.

Q:What is the application rate for individual mounds? Answer, per Amdro, 2 cups = 16 oz and per the web, 16 tbs = 1 cup so 32 tbs = 2 cups = 16 oz Amdro. So 2 tbs = 1 oz Amdro. So 2 - 4.25 tablespoons per mound (except leafcutting ants, see label).

A:  Hello, Amdro Ant Block works best as a perimeter treatment but if you do know where mounds are located we do list a recommendation of 1 to 2-1/2 ounces of product to each mound. Thank you.

Q:Amdro team: Can you add a better cap seal to this, so it 's obvious if it's been opened, which starts the clock on your 3 month expiration after opening it? I think something like what you see on NatureMade and Thorne vitamin bottles could work.

A:  The ants will still eat it even if it's expired. If the poison doesn't get them, the tummy ache will.

A:  This stuff is Granules. You can sprinkle it around the base of the tree. Or, if you can find the mound, put it directly around the hole. I do it that way so my dog or wildlife won't step on it. If you do it in the evening when they come out, it should be gone in the morning along with the ants.

A:  Hello, it depends on the type of tree. Please refer to the back of the label for application rates. Thank you.

A:  Hello, We do not recommend using the Amdro Ant Block Home Perimeter Ant Bait on brick patios. Please sweep any product that lands on your brick patio back on to your lawn treatment area. Avoid applying granules to impervious surfaces. Thank you.

A:  I have used it on hard surfaces before. If the ants are active on or around the hard surface, they will usually take the bait.

A:  Hello, Amdro Ant Block is specifically formulated to be appealing to ants as a food source. They carry the bait back to their colony and feed it to other ants. Amdro Home Perimeter Insect Killer Granules work by using two active ingredients that kill on contact and provide a residual effect that kills a wide range of pests. Thank you
