A:  Hello, Leak Detector uses a high-viscosity formula that produces large, long-lasting blue bubbles for easier detection of leaks on pipes, fittings, tanks, coils, cylinders, pressure vessels and valves. The formula is non-toxic, non-corrosive and will not freeze. Products built to last and trusted by plumbers to withstand even the toughest conditions

A:  I've used dish soap before, and it's cheap and easy to use. It can leave a sticky film if not rinsed or wiped off completely, and some are corrosive to iron pipe. Very small leaks may not bubble up as well as this product, which will foam up. If you're only doing one or two connections, I guess you could get by the old way.

A:  Yes, yes it has...I on the other hand do not keep "dish soap" on hand in my home.  dries gaskets and other porous materials out much more quickly than just using a mild soap bar. So, for 2 bucks, I have a bottle for leak detection I can use on just about AJYTHING, including hoses, tires and gaskets on my vehicle, and it wont dry material out so badly. I wish you good luck with you dish soap venture.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Yes, but why bother? Plain old water will work just as well, and it has been used for over 100 years on tires. This stuff is made for the convenience of people that have to check air or gas leaks all the time and carry it around in their tool kit. Just make a small solution of dish soap and you will be able to see the tiniest leak. No need to run to the store and get a leak detector.

                    Answer This Question

A:  Most likely, No. This is a soapy solution used only to find gaseous leaks, such as compressed air, or flammable gases, or other types of compressed gas. The leak produces bubbles that can be seen.

A:  This should never have been used in a pool. Drain the pool, scrub it down with ammonia, rinse the pool, and let it refill with rainwater.

A:  Sniffer may take longer if you are trying to find a leak outdoors and it's windy. The liquid will pinpoint the leak indicated by the bubbles.

Q:Can this be used to find a leak in a plumbing drain line? I have a bad smell when running showers, concentrated to a length of drain pipe in the basement. I'm not sure if this would find a leak of septic gases

                      Answer This Question

A:  No. This is not that kind of leak detector. It is a soapy solution intended to detect leaks in pressurized gaseous lines by showing bubbles. If your drain pipe is visibly accessible, you might try using an ultraviolet leak detecting concentrate and an ultraviolet light. A sewer smell can be indicative of an open sewer, that is, a trap that doesn't keep water in it. That is all that keeps sewer gases out of your house. If your leak is so small you cannot SEE water leaking when showers are running, then it doesn't make sense that sewer gas is coming from a leaking pipe. The sewer lines are not under pressure of any kind, and all that keeps gases at bay is a few ounces of water in a sewer trap.

A:  No, I would not recommend this product for finding a leak in a plumbing drain. This leak detector is for finding leaks in air, gas and oxygen systems that are under pressure. To find a solution for your problem I recommend you do a search on the you tube channel. (youtube.com).

A:  No. This will not fix a leak. However, it may help show you where your leak is located. This product is basically just liquid soap that will show bubbles in areas that have leaks. The leaks will cause the Leak Detector to bubble. Good Luck.

A:  No, it is designed to find leaks on pipes under pressure, like gas lines or air distribution lines.
