A: Hello, my name is Heather with KOHLER Customer Service. I am happy to assist you with your vacuum breaker question.
A vacuum breaker stops the water from going back into a hose. These are normally used for handshowers or sidesprays. How this works is if you would drop your handshower in your tub full of water, none of the water in the tub would get sucked up into the handshower. This way if you decide to take a drink out of the handshower or sidespray, you would not be drinking dirty water.
I have not heard a vacuum breaker being used on a bidet because there is no part of the bidet that would fall into the water. This being said, it could be used on the supply line if local ordinance requires it.
