The door split after about a year. The five year warranty information provided does NOT include a phone number or e-mail, or any way to get a hold of this company if you have issues. Even Home Depot does not know!

We have been in the process of updating everything in the house starting with flooring , trim, etc.. and wanted a new closet door in the entry hall. Picked this one with no regret. What a really nice door. Well made and looks great. Decided to give it the weathered look. Easy to assemble and install.

Replacing a bathroom door in our home with one of these exquisitely beautiful doors has led to us replacing every other ugly, flat panel, hollow core door in our home! Even the delivery guy fell in love with them and asked where we'd found them and plans on checking them out. And we love the reversible feature so we don't have to figure out right/left swing!

FALSE ADVERTISING, but in the end a beautiful product! This door is NOT pre-hung as shown in the picture. It comes as a door slab and a separate jam kit which you must assemble. It is more like a paint by number and where you have to follow the steps. This door company has created a new category "semi-hung" doors. Do not let the assembly intimidate you. I found an excellent 30 min youtube video from the manufacturer. Search Pacific Crest doors. We stained the door and it is gorgeous!!

Did it meet my expectations?" Yes, and then some! Excellent solid door. Beautiful woodwork. In fact, it met my expectations so well that I simply linseed oiled both doors along with the tongue and grove that makes up the walls for the hallway, laundry room, and my den, and then just left it. Both doors came out perfect. There's some pics attached. See for yourself! Note that I did have them installed by a carpenter. I wasn't taking any chances of making a mess of it. Black Hinges and latch plates came with each door. I used the antique oil rubbed door levers sets, also from Home Depot, and the match was spot on. Now keep in mind that this door says "prehung", but it is not a prehung door. However, it ships with it's own door jam set and it's reversible for the preexisting hinge cutouts so you can hang it and swing it in either direction. After now installing two of these I'm wishing I had gotten a third door, but I just couldn't justify the expense for a closet door. Too bad too because it would have been nice to have a perfect match. I'm wondering if maybe they also make a bi-fold door that would match this design to use for the closet, but that's another issue. The doors are ready to accept a clear coat if I decide to do so. No extra sanding was involved. As for the shipping, the delivery was made via an LTL freight company and the shipper laid both doors onto one custom built pallet along with both sets of door jams. Definitely a testament to the LTL freight company as the packaging was not indigenous to having came through without a scratch, yet it did. As a 40 year veteran of the trucking industry, including LTL freight, it's a miracle. Shipper could have done better by protecting the doors all the way around the edges with heavy corner-board. Still, they arrived just fine. When I installed these they were installed on extra thick walls. The look came out perfect. You can see the jam set that came with the door and the ebony stained trim that was added to make what ostensibly is a miniature hallway. The extra thickness for the the walls was created by having 2X6 studs with 5/8 thick sheet of plywood on both sides of the wall and 5/8 inch thick fire-code rated Sheetrock on both sides. My entire home is built to that spec. Walls and ceiling. The only place that doesn't have the additional Sheetrock on both sides is where tongue and groove was installed over the plywood instead. I'll attach some pictures so all can see. Please keep in mind that we are under construction here while at the same time living in our new home. Slate floor is being installed right now, but has not been grouted yet. Making due at this point since our last how was lost in the Erskine fire. You definitely want to consider these doors for inside your home. They have the look and quality you expect, much better than any hollow core door, can be stained, oiled, or painted to fit ones desired look. I just happen to like the natural knotty alder wood. If one desires the knots are fillable and the door can be painted for personal choice.

I only rated the doors as a 3 because the doors would be just lovely, but they arrived with damages. The damages are mainly to the frames and my carpenter is fixing if he can and if not, rebuilding. The doors themselves are beautiful, but having ordered and receiving a whole shipment damaged and then a partial shipment with damages leaves me a bit leery about ordering online. I would recommend this product, but only if purchased in the store where it can be immediately inspected. I do want to say that the employees at Home Depot have been more than helpful and have tried to assist as much as possible. The fault lies with the carrier and/or unsatisfactory loading and/or unloading practices. The last shipment received - 4 doors - 4 doors with damage - were kept as they were holding up the process of our build and will need to have our carpenter fix or rebuild as needed. Joni
