40-Watt 4 ft. White Integrated LED Flush Mount Light

It currently has lightbulb fixtures only, but it’s just not cutting it. Putting this up has really helped brighten up one whole area of the basement. Simple to install and is really worth it. There is no comparison to the light this produces vs. a regular lightbulb. We’ll be using more to finish the basement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lithonia Lighting FMLWL 48’ wraparound style LED light fixture is suitable for ceiling or wall mounting in closets, laundry rooms, garages and similar locations. It is a contractor grade fixture with a white metal case and white plastic diffuser lens. The fixture measures 47-3/8” x 5-1/2” x 2-5/8” and weighs about 5 lbs. The fixture’s linear LEDs are rated at 41 watts and produce 2900 lumens of 4000K color temperature light. 4000K is considered “cool white”. This luminaire is roughly equivalent to a 40 watt T-12 fluorescent lamp. Installation of the fixture is accommodated by a two-wire + ground pigtail on the back of the unit, and four keyhole type mounting holes which are stamped in the back for attachment to a standard junction box. There are knockouts available for use with a small junction box. While making the wire connections it will be necessary to support the fixture, or have a helper assist with holding it. Wire nuts and mounting screws are also included in the package, so no additional materials are needed for installation. Once the fixture is mounted, the plastic diffuser can be snapped into the fixture body to complete the installation. This LED luminaire is preferable to the alternative use of a heavier, less efficient fluorescent tube and ballast fixture which would also have less longevity and reliability. It produces bright, white light and turns on instantly and silently. The LED fixture will start in 0° F temperatures (unlike fluorescents) and is approved for installation in damp locations, making this fixture a good choice for garage (cold) and laundry room installations.

I am planning on using this product to light up my BBQ shed. I feel this will be a good source of light for long overnight cooks. I am looking forward many years of well light cooking .

I have my washer and dryer in the garage and can see what I'm doing so much better with the LED wrap light, much brighter. It looks awesome, is low maintenance and uses less electricity to operate. Nice quality light.

This LITHONIA LIGHTING 40-watt, flush-mounted fixture with LED light source is easy to install, especially if a proper wiring enclosure like an octagon junction box is already present. The reason a wiring enclosure is needed is that connection to the supply wiring must be done outside the light fixture enclosure rather than within it, unlike traditional fluorescent lighting fixtures. I installed this new lighting product it in my basement next to a modern, T-8 fluorescent fixture that has 2-32 watt fluorescent bulbs. Right away, I noticed that this LED light fixture gives of considerably brighter light, yet consumes about 37.5% less power than the adjacent fluorescent light. This fixture runs cooler than the fluorescent light, illuminates instantly and needs no warm-up for full intensity lighting. It is not dimmable. It makes no perceptible noise during operation. The only minus I found is that the diffuser is not easy to re-install and is of a plastic that is brittle so that it cracks easily. This lighting source has a 5-year limited warranty and is a genuinely good product from my viewpoint.

We wanted to install a decorative LED light at the bottom of the steps in our basement and we like this one. The light output is not as white as thought it would be, but it’s fine for the location and lights up the area well. I wanted a direct wire type since there are other lights on the switch that controls this light. The lens is easy to remove to install to a ceiling light box or directly to the ceiling joist. Installation was easy. I give the value a 4 because the price seems high compared to other lights. Also, you can purchase two LED shop light tubes for an existing light for about one third the price of this light, but you’ll have to rewire the old shop light to eliminate the ballast.

Really like this LED fixture, very nice looking and well built fairly easy to install, with nicely fit lens. One thing not really a fan of is the have try to hold fixture up to wire then mount after wiring, as is not access to wiring after fixture is installed, is better than a lot of others what are heavier and wider, where you may need help to install (someone to hold up while you wire it). Other than that love it and it looks great, I put in my tool room, installing new drywall in whole house so may have to take down and redo after drywall, but needed the light now. Is really a great light

Contrary to website description, this may or may not be an “ideal replacement” for traditional 2-light fluorescent wraps. Refer to attached photos for mounting configuration. This is a hard-wire, center mount ONLY with no switch on the fixture itself. Our existing fixtures are end-mount and would not only require shifting the fixtures, but also reveal unfinished ceiling. If that inflexibility is not a problem for your application, this is a “thumbs up” fixture and, as listed in the Q&A, ‘ideal for use in closets, foyers, hallways, corridors, bedrooms, offices, utility areas and attic spaces’. It’s also rated for damp locations and well protected from dust and bugs. Note: this fixture cannot be used with a dimmer. It’s good quality, nice design, and lightweight enough to mount with two provided screws (no anchors included). The single strip LED produces substantial light at just 40W. The 5-year warranty provides an added measure of comfort! Get a peek at the warranty under “Specifications” on the Home Depot website. Be certain of the various color ranges when mixing fixtures. IMHO, 2700K is yellow-light…3500K is my idea of soft white….5000K is daylight-bright.
