Q:I've ordered five different samples of LifeProof LVP flooring. Crosbyton oak is the only one that doesn't have the rubber bottom. The bottom is more of a foam pad. Why and what's the difference? Thank you.

Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for your question. We (HMTX) do not manufacture all Lifeproof products so I can't speak for the other pieces you have but the Crosbyton Oak does have a foam type underlayment attached. If you'd like to give us a call, we'll be glad to take a look at the other products you have and see if we can help you figure out the difference. (866) 843-8453

    Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for your question. If you'd like to use a 6 mil poly sheeting over concrete, you can, but it's not required.

Q:Is extra underlayment required for this product?
      by|Apr 11, 2024

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question- No underlayment is required as the Lifeproof has a pre-attached pad. If additional underlayment is required, the Lifeproof Universal Underlayment (SKU 1006262709) has been tested and approved to be used with Lifeproof vinyl flooring.

          Scratch easy, Stain Magnet
Stain magnet, rough surface that attracts all type of dirt/stain. ie: when inevitably move your chair, it will leave an ugly mark, basically any type of activity other than walking with bare feet will stain it. Worse, due to the rough surface those stains do NOT wipe off using standard mopping. You need to either 1) use a metal scrap to remove stain/dirt stuck to it. 2) or use magic eraser(safe?) to remove stains that embedded inside. Looks good, terrible real world use.

            Just pretty
We recently remodeled our guest bathroom and this is just gorgeous! I hate dark patterns and this is just perfect for the look that I am looking for.

              Lifeproof installation.
Lifeproof flooring is great! Easy to install, once you get the hang of it, looks and feels great. This was my second installation, 1st was in basement, and 2nd to replace a 12 year old carpet. My only problem was needing more guidance on the door transitions, but that could be my fault.

Long edge plank locks are poorly designed
Fitting and locking the long edge of the planks is hit-and-miss. There is a thin 'blade' that apparently has to fit into a thin groove or the plank seams won't close properly. That 'blade' doesn't fit easily into the groove, and when it does seat properly it can easily pop out again if the free plank edge is lifted. You must install left-to-right or this problem will eat you alive and narrow plank gaps will be difficult or impossible to avoid.

Good floor really brightens a space
Happy with the flooring overall. Some issues with damaged cases though. The Crosbyton Oak really brightens and opens up a space.

                  Looks awesome
I got the Alys oak for my bedroom and it came out beautiful! It was fairy easy to install and the nice long planks made it faster. The floor looks beautiful and I love how it feels to walk on. It looks realistic and I love the dark and light planks. Make sure to mix your boxes because some boxes have more dark pieces and some have more light ones. A couple things.... I used a guillotine floor cutter which made it SO much easier. I had originally tried a utility knife but this floor is super heavy duty so it was really hard to cut by hand. For the pieces that needed other cuts I had to use a jigsaw. It would have been really rough by hand. I would highly recommend you get a floor cutter. The wear layer is so thick and good that it is hard to cut. But I am glad because the floor should hold up nicely. Overall I am really happy with this floor and I am glad I chose it. I am really considering doing the rest of my house in this.

I got the Crosbyton oak, and I installed it myself in a rental unit. The wide plank gives the room a high-end feel. The light color really helps brighten up a dark apartment. In fact, this was the lightest yellow-y oak I found anywhere. I installed it over concrete in one room and tile in the other room. The part installed over flat concrete has a nice sturdiness to it. The part I installed over the top of 12inch tile has a bit of a bounce in some spots. That's on me; I got lazy, but I regret nothing because it's not that bad. I had no trouble working around duplicate planks. In fact, there's only one or two repeating planks. The other planks appeared to be from some long pattern that was cut in random spots. So there are some repeat wood grains but they're located in different spots from plank to plank. During the renovations, I dragged furniture across the floor and spilled paint, and yet this floor was undamaged and cleaned up well.

                      Beautiful Amherst Oak by Lifeproof
We chose this Amherst Oak by Lifeproof for our new construction home. The photos online don’t do the color justice...it truly is beautiful for the Farmhouse feel we are going for. Good variety of warm wood tones and gray to coordinate with our walls and furniture.

I like the larger size, less joints. Easy to use but watch your end joints. The flooring feels warmer on bare feet. I am using a guillotine type cutter for the ends, a jigsaw for cutouts can be trimmed up with a razor knife. You will need a block and hammer
