Q:Will this work on 3/4 engineered hardwood flooring?

Answer This Question

A:  This will work with 3/4" flooring, though typically solid hardwood. Check with your flooring manufacturer for proper installation specs so you don't void the warranty. Typically, 18ga cleats would be used on Engineered flooring, which would be the Freeman PF18GLCN. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Freeman-Pneumatic-18-Gauge-1-3-4-in-L-Cleat-Flooring-Nailer-with-Flooring-Mallet-and-Interchangeable-Base-Plates-PF18GLCN/203954526

Worked right out of the box. I’ve installed around 2000sq ft of tongue and groove flooring. Not a single misfire that wasn’t due to user error. For me is what definitely a cheaper option than renting a flooring nailer.

I purchased the nailer to install hardwood flooring in our 4 bedrooms. The nailer worked great!! We did one bedroom each weekend and had no issues.

The floor nailerer worked great, only jammed once but only because I didn't hit the plunger correctly. It only took me 5 minutes to unscrew the two allen bolts and remove nail and put back together. This was only putting down 100 sq feet of 3/4 inch solid wood. I have much more to do soon, but very happy with the nailer so far, and confident that it will continue to do well. Good buy for sure, nice case too.

The FREEMAN 3-in-1 Flooring Air Nailer and Stapler worked fine for me. I only installed about 260sqft of 3/4" Oak hardwood flooring and I only used staples, but I didn't have any problems. I purchased the kit with the case, so that I could keep the set alltogether. I will say that the case is well made. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

        Great Tool For the Value
I installed 3/4" hardwood floors on my whole first level. (Around 1200 SF) I was able to purchase this and take my time instead of renting a used tool and having to rush to get it done. This Nailer is very easy to use and did quality work.

        Best bang for your buck
The Freeman 3 in 1 is a great floor nailer and easy to use compared to the Bostich and other high dollars ones I've used some have a second grove where the shoe meets the tongue and if your not careful, the cleat hits in the middle of the board and you have to tear the board out, very frustrating. I took the gun out of the box and made sure the adapter plate was tight, put 10 drops of oil in it and loaded my cleats and away I went,I put down 750 square feet of Brazilian Cherry and used about 3500 cleats yes three thousand five hundred and I oiled the gun about every 200 cleats,I set my compressor at 100 psi and not 1 jam up,the gun worked flawless. I have not tried staples or T cleats but the L's work fine.I would defiantly recommend this nailer to any home owner or professional contractor. Thank you Freeman and Home Depot !!!!

        Solid Nailer
Finished 450 sq ft bamboo install today. Over 2000 t nails not a single issue. Oiled at the start to both days. Overall i was impressed. Ill probably use this 2-3 times per year, if i did hardwood install on a more common basis i would step up to a "better" nailer, though this performed flawlessly. If nothing else it paid for itself considering what a rental would of run so ill see how it does in the future.
