Q:Is this the correct breaker for an electric oven?
by|Feb 17, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The oven should call out the recommended breaker size either in the manual or on a specification label on the unit itself. The correct breaker size will differ depending on the particular model oven so it is important to verify the correct one for your model.

Q:Is 60A breaker HACR compliant for use with AC Heat Pumps? Trane spec plate Min/Max Req Breaker 60A on Condenser ONLY. Currently wired to a 40A, it occasionally trips at startup. All Caps,Contactors and 521 relay replaced, no shorts. Unit runs good.

    Answer This Question

A:  Yes it is HACR compliant. Before swapping out the circuit breaker, check that the rest of the circuit such as the wiring is properly sized for 60A service. The in rush current during startup may be tripping the 40A breaker.

Q:Can I use this breaker with a GTE Sylvania panel?
        by|Feb 8, 2022
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  GTE Sylvania used a couple different style of breakers over the years when they were doing panelboards including Zinsco style breakers. Your panel should list Zinsco breakers or the use of Type RC breakers like this one if it is compatible. Despite different manufacturers of the Zinsco line over time, the general design and look of the breakers has stayed pretty similar so the existing breakers in your panel shouldn't look too different even if they are old.

Adequate for the job but way overpriced. The manufacturer is taking advantage of no other competition for this item to jack up the price by four to five times what other circuit breakers go for.
