How do I rent a tool or Load N' Go truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. Can I rent a tool for a week?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term projects can also be accomodated. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
