How do I rent a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which vans or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go moving truck, pickup truck, or flatbed truck. Penske moving van rentals and moving trucks have different rules. You could also visit our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is available at your favorite store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
