Can I rent a van?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which vans or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go cargo van, pickup truck, or flatbed truck. Penske moving van rentals and moving trucks have different rules. You may also check out our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is in stock at your store.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
