Can I rent a moving truck?

If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go cargo van, flatbed truck, or pickup truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is in stock at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
