Can I rent a van?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks or vans you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, pickup truck, or cargo van. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You could also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is in stock at your favorite store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
