How do I rent tools and trucks?

Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and bigger jobs can also be accomodated. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing a van.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
