Can I rent a tool by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing your van.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
