Can I rent a van?

If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go cargo van, pickup truck, or flatbed truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is offered at your store.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before you select a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
