Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before selecting a van.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
