Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before you choose a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
