Contains Portland cement to fill cement wall's porous crevices.
Contains Portland cement to fill cement wall's porous crevices. This fact is the reason the three gallon container is so heavy. A convenient pour spout is located on the top of the can. If you have a paint shaker, this is preferred for mixing the contents. Because the product is petroleum based, be sure to follow the directions an work in a well ventilated space. If indoors, do not work near a flame or source of ignition, Shut off any appliance like dryers, water heater, furnace, etc. Open all windows. Rust-ole-um makes great paints and finishes. They did it again with this for providing a watertight paint that is perfect for basement walls inside or out. Will hold back 34 PSI of water pressure. Any solid wall or brick will become watertight. Drys quickly for a second coat the same day.

Does The Job Needed
I found the can a bit difficult to open and I had to get a friend come and help me. I chose the oil base instead of the latex because I read that it tends to hold back the water better. I live above natural springs in the ground and near a stream. During rainy times it definitely comes through the wall in my basement. I found this to be very easy to use. I only did a small area because of it being winter here and it went on very well. They suggest a thick napped roller or a brush. After using a similar product at our old house I went for the wall paper brush. Clean up is harder because of it being oil based and that was the only drawback but obviously my choice after researching things.

I have received this product. Zinsser 3 gal. WaterTite Mold and Mildew-Proof White Oil Based primer
I have received this product Finally. I have used this product for sealing up walls prior to finish coating them. It will successfully cover mold stains and will also seal in odors like smoke and mildew. It is good stuff to use to deep down freshen up basements and does provide a sound subsurface for your color coat. This is good old oil base primer.

Applies nicely, cleanup requires paint thinner
This Watertite paint is a great choice for trying to prevent or avoid wet walls, mold, or mildew. It’s designed for use on cinder blocks, cement, or bricks. Importantly, note that it is an oil-based paint, meaning cleanup is a bit more challenging and requires paint thinner. I used it on a small retaining wall around a garden. It applies smoothly and dries relatively quickly.

Water proofing option.
I'm about to do a water proofing project in my basement well water room and I'm using this Zinsser 3 gallon water proofing product. I have used many cement based water proofing products in the past and I figured I'd give this product a try. It goes on with a brush or roller. It is oil based, so clean up you will have to use mineral spirits. It has very low odor but supply fresh air when applying. My moisture isn't to bad so this works well.

Intense Coating
This paint is thick and the consistency is like cake icing. I painted a metal flower stand and used a brush and a roller. I recommend using a disposable brush or roll. The thickness of the paint brush cleaning would be tough. As you can see from the pictures it coated the stand exceptionally well. Because of the thickness it leaves a smooth but somewhat wavy finish. Only time will tell if it keeps the stand from rusting through.

It works well just follow directions
Hey ladies and gentlemen here again today with another review this time I'll be reviewing some concrete, block, brick paint, home Depot sent me this stuff earlier this week, I have previously experience and knowledge of this product, I used in on my mother in laws brick porch, she wanted some color to the front recessed porch instead of the 6p year old faded in Texas sun brick, so it's Important to thoroughly clean the brick and I mean thorough, I did a multi step cleaning with degreaser, tsp, and a light acid followed by a lot of rising, actually all the work made the brick look nice, anyways I attribute the paint holding up so well to my preparation the paint looks good to this day no stains and fading or chalking don't cake on the first coat use that as your binding coat it doesn't have to cover and color the brick in the first pass, let the brick absorb the paint into yhe pores to seal then just paint as you normally would, coverage was good no need to really cake it on

Effective Coverage and helpful instructions
I recently used Zinsser WaterTite Mold and Mildew-Proof paint during a basement renovation. The paint went into the concrete block nicely and filled in the texture easily, the paint really seemed to soak into the block well. The large 3 Gallon container came with a slight dent but it still held in the paint just fine. Applying the two recommended coats went very smoothly with this paint and I plan on doing the rest of the basement with it eventually.

Zinseer WaterTight Mold and Mildew Professional Paint
Zinsser WaterTight mold and mildew proof professional oil bases paint has proved to me to be the exact product that I needed. I have an exterior block wall that surrounds my backyard for privacy and keeping the dog in place. A couple of years ago I had the whole house painted along with the concrete/cinder block wall. I had the structure pressure washed and painted with a very good exterior paint. After about a year or so, one area of the block wall started to show some wear, with the paint starting to flake off in one particular area. After time and a lot of investigating, I found that my neighbor had a irrigation leak on his side of the yard that was slowly soaking into the block causing some block erosion and the paint starting to flake off. Using this product on the affected area showed me immediate results. The paint is very thick and goes on pretty heavy. I feel that this not only stabilized the wall from any further flaking, but added some look and structure back to the flaked & eroded affected area. This product applies almost as a very thick gel. I made the mistake of using a cheap paint brush to eliminate cleaning it after use. Big mistake, as the bristles from the cheap brush, due to the thickness of the paint, pulled the bristles off the brush and on to the paint job. The job also took some extra care and work to get it to fill in the rough & eroded area of the cinder block. This product is also oil based, meaning cleanup is a lot more difficult than latex based paint which normally cleans up pretty easily with just water. I feel very confident that this Zinseer WaterTight product will resolve the paint from flaking & eroding any further and helping the block wall last for many years to come

Great product
Great product that gives a great protection. It is an oil based paint that protects against mold and mildew. It has a resin in the paint that will help give a watertight seal of protection. It has a lifetime waterproof protection and a 10 year mold and mildew protection. It is easy to apply and clean up is with soap and water. Designed to have 2 coats used, first is to seal and the second is to ensure protection.

Not Your Ordinary Paint for those Wet spaces!!!
First things first - This isn't a splash-and-go type of paint; it's a commitment. The application process is strenuous, requiring significant elbow grease. Two hands on a one-inch nap roller are sometimes necessary to get enough pressure to work the product into all the cement block holes. Follow that up with a four-inch brush to ensure the paint is worked into every crevice. The efforts, however, were worth it. My crawlspace, which previously had some water infiltration, was essentially waterproofed. Material and Composition The paint is oil-based, a critical choice for damp environments. Studies have shown that oil-based paints are more resistant to moisture compared to their water-based counterparts. The paint comes with a robust 34 PSI water pressure rating, adding an extra layer of assurance against seepage. And unlike some oil-based options out there, this product doesn’t emit noticeable fumes—a huge plus if you're concerned about air quality. Applicability: More Than Just Crawlspaces I've also noticed the paint’s versatility. It isn't just good for crawlspaces; it’s also effective for basement walls and even the stilts of stilt houses. With the hurricane season in full swing, the ability to protect a structure from wet conditions is vital. Performance and Aesthetics The paint does more than just protect; it enhances. Drying to a touch in an hour, it allows for recoating within four hours. The finish is matte, giving it a modern look while doing its primary job of warding off moisture. It's a visual upgrade from drab concrete and cinder blocks. Additional colors can be mixed, as this white color is a base color. Warranty and Longevity And here's the kicker: the manufacturer isn't just talking the talk, they're walking the walk, with a 10-year guarantee against mold and mildew. That’s a decade of peace of mind, backed by a full refund of the purchase price if you're not satisfied. The Tools Make the Job For a job like this, you’ll need specialized tools. A roller cover with a 3/4" to 1 1/2" nap works best for rough surfaces. A chip brush is recommended for touch-ups, and because the paint is oil-based, cleanup is a breeze; toss the used covers and brushes. Closing Thoughts In sum, this paint is a game-changer for those looking to transform their crawlspace from a damp, mold-prone area into a dry, well-protected space. It’s hardy, versatile, and backed by a 10-year guarantee against mold and mildew. Just prepare for a bit of a workout during application.

Solid Waterproofing Seal
I'm working in the garage that has cinder block walls, and getting ready to insulate and sheetrock, but I wanted to seal the cinder block and make it waterproof and mold and mildew free before finishing, that's why I'm using this ZINSSER, WaterTite white oil-based paint!! This paint is very thick, easy to apply with a brush and roller, it rolls on great, and it seals in one coat, very nice, and has no oil base smell, that's a plus right there, this product does what it says it will do!! I'm going to finish the garage and use it in the basement next, that's how much I love this product!!

Intense coating
this paint is thick it has the consistency of marshmallow cream that being said i'm confident it will work as intended. it goes on really smooth and covers well i strongly recommend wearing a resprater if using indoors i used it to paint an interior wall in my basement. i used a brush and recommend using a disposable one like i did because due to the thickness of the paint brush cleaning would most likely be tough all in all it seems to be a hardy and complete coating

Good product!
This Zinsser watertite oil based paint works well for what we wanted. We used it on the outside walls of an inclosed patio where we wanted protection from any mildew or mold that may form along the bottom or near the top by the rain gutters. We have used this product before, Both inside and out and have been pleased. As far as using it on wood, we have not had any issues. The wood had already been primed though. It is a thicker paint so make sure to stir it really good before and during using ( we used a smaller paint container, so we could stir while using). I also used it on a cement birdbath once and it worked well also.I would recommend this product for mold/mildew protection.

Just what I needed for my basement.
All paint is the same, no, it is not, and I just know that because the old paint started to peel and show mold on it and now I know why, I needed to use this paint the WaterTite Mold and Mildew proof white oil based waterproofing paint. On my basement I have a small crawl space that it holds some moisture and it transfers over to the brick and I painted it but now I just finished repainting it with this paint because it is waterproof and mildew resistant. I like that the five gallons cover 375 square feet and I can use a roller for easy application. I do like that it does not have a strong odor, I still used plenty of ventilation while painting and I like that this one is oil based, it does not play well with water. I also like the color, bright white and having up to 34 lbs. of water pressure is a plus. I also like Rust-Oleum products I have used them all around the house and even in my car car so I know this paint will last a long time. Overall it is not just paint, it is what I needed to cover the brick so no more mildew or mold appears, just what I needed, the product came dented but it was ok inside, it is nicely sealed.

Works great against water leaks, seepage and dampness
I used the Zinsser Water-Tite mold and mildew-proof white oil based paint on my poured concrete sea wall. There can be wetness on the inside of the wall and temporary wetness on the outside during king tides. I first ground off, then filled in the imperfections in the wall with mortar mix cement. I applied the waterproofing paint using a wide brush in areas where I could sit or stand in front of the area to be painted. I cleaned the brush with mineral spirits.. For larger areas where it was higher or lower I used a roller on an adjustable extension handle. My 9” roller cover with a ¾” nap worked best on the rough surface but I also used a cover with a 1 ½” nap for extra rough surfaces plus a throw away chip brush for touch-ups. It was an easy cleanup because I could just throw away the cover and brush as the paint is oil based. I got the oil based type because I think it will last longer than the water based paint where there is so much moisture. The paint has a 34 PSI water pressure rating. The paint is thick but with a smooth telture and went on easily with a brush and or roller. I also used it on my basement block walls and stilts in my stilt house that can get wet especially in a hurricane. The paint looks great and is a great improvement over the block and concrete. The paint dried to the touch with a matte finish in one hour and can re-coated in four hours. The manufacturer warranty is impressive with satisfaction guaranteed or a full refund of the purchase price and a 10 year guarantee against mold and mildew,

Does as promised
I’m working on stopping water infitration into my crawlspace. After doing a number of things I was still getting some seepage through the bottom row of cement block. Put this on and it appears to have fixed it. This is tough to apply, be ready for a workout.Used a one inch nap roller followed by a wide 5 inch brush suitable for oil based paints. Had to use two hands on the roller in many spots in order to get needed pressure to get into all the holes, followed immedately using the brush. Did the two coats recommended. This really adheres and dries hard as a rock. Even though it’s oil based, it really doesn’t put out any noticeable fumes. I’ll try to update in a month or so.
