I have just finished installing this fan, and the install was easy, with one exception, it was very difficult to jam all of the wires and boxes into the fixture between the lights and the blades. I believe one of the boxes is for an optional remote that is sold separately. I assume this was an addition somewhere along the line, and therefore the reviews that stated an 'easy' or 'quick' install probably did not have to deal with this. Everything else is straight forward, if you have ever installed a ceiling fan, you should be fine. *** I am curious...does anyone know if the large, black box is indeed for a remote, and if so, how to eliminate it? I think this would be VERY helpful to others. *** The lights are Halogen, so they are super intense. A high mount with the lights on pictures or artwork would work perfectly. I mounted mine in the kitchen, for added light on stove and prep areas, but I had to step the wattage down. It comes with 50W, I went with 35W, which also helps cut down on the heat they produce, as I do not need any more heat sources in the kitchen. There is an optional dimmer as well that may prove useful to many (you would have to install a dimmer switch on your wall, and buy compatible bulbs). One review stated that a bulb went out after only a short time. Halogen lights burn HOT, and the oil from your hands creates 'hot spots' on the bulb, causing them to burn out faster, avoid this by wearing a pair of gloves when you instal the bulbs. They are not LED, or CFL, so they will not last 5-10 years, but you should get over two years out of them, depending on usage. Lastly, the fan speeds are good, it moves a good amount of air, but there is a noticeable hum on high speed, thankfully, we use low and medium 90% of the time. If you are installing this mainly to push a lot of air, I would not recommend it. I do have to give it credit on being balanced though, I did not have to adjust it at all. Low and Med speeds are 100% quiet.

Beautiful lighting, love the directional option. I hired someone so can't say if it would be easy to install. Looked for a long time for something modern Xavier is perfect! Very happy with this purchase!

This is a very modern looking fan. It looks stylish and kind of edgy. Lighting is brighter than expected, which is nice. I cannot comment on installation, hired someone to do that.

Beautiful fan for a living room! Not sure on the effort to install since I had a professional do it. Works great with a dimmer and fan speed control!

I like this fan (we purchased two) for our long, rectangular livingroom. They look nice & function well. Fairly easily installed. The one drawback is that they provide minimal general lighting in the room. On the other hand, the lights can be directional, so that is a plus - directing light where I need it most. WARNING: Those little buggers are HOT!!!! The fans come with the halogen GU10 bulbs. I immediately replaced those bulbs with the GU10 LED replacement bulbs. These are very cool to the touch, which makes turning the lights in the right direction much easier (and safer!)

Very beautifu, extremely good wind flow only reason it has 4 stars instead of 5 is because the 3 lights are 100 percent spot lights so unless you have other lighting in the room one corner is always dark. You can move the lights up and down and side to side but since they are spot lights if you face them down it's dark up by the ceiling or vice versa. Would greatly improve it to have 4 lights and make it shine a little out the sides or add a light that goes around the bar and shines all around.

I assembled the whole fan on the ground; I then lifted it and let it hang on the U-shape support from the ceiling. Then, I connected the wires: Green wires to bare wire, white-to-white, black-to-black, and blue-to-red wire. I then inserted the lights provided. I tested it and sometimes I had to pull the light chain and the fan chain for the ceiling fan to function. If OK, I then cover all wires with the metal component (bowl shape). It is beautiful.

Quiet and beautiful

Great fan, ugly light kit.Installed it without the light. would have been nice for a clean looking light like the style of the fan itself.

The fan is excellent, the light is not for a large room. 8x8 maybe not for a large area.

It's a great looking fan but the lights had more of a spotlight effect than we were looking for.

This fan was easy to assemble, lightweight and quiet. Just love the way it looks in my bedroom.

This was a perfect choice for my new office. I really like being able to shine the lightning where it is needed. It makes the room very nice.

Have only had it for a month but love how quiet it is and the air it produces. Also, love the LED lights.

Everything about this fan is great...just wish the lights were LEDs. The lights produce a lot of heat. Will be good in the winter in WV. Trade off I guess. Not a deal breaker for me. The fans are very quiet.

I bought this fan and it really is beautiful. It is very quiet, no sound at all. I had to buy a 24 inch rod for my slopped ceiling and it is beautiful, runs great!

product indicated that it came with an extra bulb which was not included in the packaging and after only having it installed for 2 weeks one of the bulbs has blown out already with minimal use.

GREAT, great looking fan! Installed in condo, selling point had to leave fan, purchase exact same for new condo. So many compliments. Lights easily adjusted to 3 areas. Modern, installed in cath. ceiling in great/living room. Highly recommend for style!
