Installed this latch over the summer to replace a screen door on the back door out to the deck that didn't have a latch at all when we purchased the house. I loved it and was so happy to finally have a latch on the door. The look was great and matched our other latch on the 2nd screen door out to the yard ... Now it is freezing here in Chicago right now and I'm a pretty strong guy, but I this thing should have lasted longer than only 8 months . Now in saying that I will give it one more chance since I did really like it and try to be a little less aggressive when pulling on it ..

Didn’t last -Broke off w normal use. Was super excited I could latch toddler and dog safely inside. Initially it was wonderful- but even the best things must come to an end- just figured I would get more than a year out of it?!?!

As a custom screen door builder I found this latch to be an excellent product. Fast and easy to mount,left or right. Nice fit and finish. In this picture I used the satin finish hardware and applied a rust finish to outside handle.

I’m not sure what type of door this latch can be used on. Certainly not on my front storm door where I have a latch that looks exactly like this one. The mechanism is too large for the depth of my door. So, be sure to understand the specs before you purchase this. I was concerned about returning it because it comes sealed in hard molded plastic so it’s impossible to open without damaging the packaging. Fortunately, Home Depot was good with processing my return.

4th one just broke after 2 months. The metal piece inside is super flimpsy and has snapped on the last four we had causing the handles to fall off. Absolute garbage. The side piece it comes with is super flimsy and we constantly have to bend it, and the locking mechanism is so loose you will lock yourself out of the house. Buy something else and save yourself the hassle.

Not the right size, never used it

Just PERFECT FOR MY STORM DOOR

Fit my storm door perfect. The previous latch (original ) wore out and I only needed to enlarge one hole in the door to complete the installation.

Bought this to replace my existing handle and after I changed the orientation, got everything almost in place, and realized the screw holes didn't line up with my existing ones (not their fault). I drilled 2 new holes, got everything partially assembled so I could gauge the length of the internal small flat pin that turns the lock. After seeing what the length needed to be, I attempted to snap the pin at the appropriate scored section using two sets of pliers. Well, the scored line that I needed to break must not have been scored well and the pin snapped way short of where it needed to be rendering the whole lock completely useless. Even after that I tried to get the pin to snap in the right place to see if it would snap, and I couldn't gt it to break. I'm returning this today, quite disappointed to have my nasty old handle back on and a hole in my door.

This is a jam up good door latch you will not go wrong buying this latch I would recommend this to everyone that has a stom door and need a latch that will hold

It did not fit my screen door. I am still in the process of looking a handle that fits.

Replaced old handle worked great

Purchased this set 2 years ago. Worked fine until this morning when the pin that controls the spring tension broke off.
