It's unclear whether this item is a close-out, blemished model, factory-second, or simply suffers from a lack of care in packaging. There are many scuffs and scratches and black marks on the lever. The latch plates do not match the finish of the lockset. The lockset is satin nickel but the latch plates are bright shiny polished chrome. The locksets were in small unsealed manufacturer's boxes, placed in a well-oversized cardboard carton, along with a crumpled wad of brown paper. When I opened the carton, I found a disheveled mess of locksets and parts strewn about. I'm surmising that as they rattled about during shipping, the locksets suffered surface blemishes. My advice is - don't arrange home delivery. If the products are delivered to a store, you'll have an opportunity to inspect them on-site, and refuse acceptance on-the-spot if they don't meet your satisfaction. I've already purchased satin nickel latch plates from another source, and hope that I can polish the damaged locksets to make them presentable. Otherwise, they'll be offered for sale on a widely known website. Ugh!
