This set did not work. I have Weiser locks but the pins were too long and did not allow the cylinder to turn once inserted.

Works great with my Weiser locks. I see other people are having problems from what I can tell buy using this kit for non Weiser locks. Weiser has 10 different pin lengths while kwikset keys will fit weiser locks, they only have 7 pin lengths. So if re-keying a weiser lock to use a kiwkset key, then please use a kiwkset re-keying kit. This will prevent any issues in-regards to pin length.

    Triple-check your brand!
I bought Schlage locks, and I could have sworn that I ordered the Schlage kit, but this one for Weiser locks was the one I purchased by accident. It seems like a good kit. The tools are everything you'd need to rekey a lock and they seem to be of good quality. I returned it for a refund at my local store, and am especially satisfied with the customer service side of this whole thing. Be aware, also, that this kit only rekeys for the included keys. You are unlikely to be able to use it for an existing key. Even if the pins provided would work for your particular keys, there is no indication of the size of the included pins (eitherbefore or after purchase). They are simply color coded for ease of installation in the proper sequence. Which is fine, I'm sure, if that works for you. Just go in with your eyes open.

While this product contains a Cylinder Removal Tool and Plug Follower (I'll be keeping these), I think a Key Gauge might have been crucial to a successful re-keying effort. I thought inserting Bottom Pins into the Cylinder would be a straight forward task; apparently not. Either the Bottom Pins were wrong for the key I was trying to set or, not having a Key Gauge left me guessing badly. Either way, my effort failed even though the shear line looked reasonable. For me, this product either needed a Key Gauge or Bottom Pins that more closely matched the new Kwikset locks I had purchased. Restoring the original Bottom Pins to the Cylinder restored the lock's ability to operate.

The kit was easy except that each pin had to be filed down to properly work. But they did work.

Worked fine as is in 1 lock, had to file pins in 2 others, but that wasn't much of a problem. Locks all work with the same key now, which was the goal.

        Easy job saved $$
Rekeyed 2 locks less than 30 minutes. This Weiser kit worked for noname lock without issue. Just watch youtube video first, so much easier that way. Don;t need any other tools other than what are included. Spray little bit of wd40 or some lube before inserting back in lock.

Does not work for Weiser Locks
As all the reviews state (I wish I read them 1st), this kit does not work for Weiser locks. The one positive review is reviewing a Kiwkset kit. The pins provided are too long. I guess you could file down the pins as some have done, or file down the provided key and then get more cut from that, but it is a lot of work or extra expense. What should be a simple solution is not. I would look for something else or prepare for a lot of frustration.

Package showed a pickle fork but did not contain a pickle fork with contents.
This product was easy to install after I purchased a pickle fork from another supplier. After installation it worked very smoothly.

              Good idea but bad product
Rekeyed three locks with kit. Either the pins were too long or the keys were cut incorrectly because all the pins protruded from the lock core so far they prevented reassembly. After much filing I was able to get three locks to work. Not worth the trouble.

              Kwikset E-2400 5-pin re-keying kit
I had no [problems re-keying my 5 Kwikset door locks. The parts all fit perfectly and everything went together just fine. The first door lock took much longer as I was following the directions for the first time and went slowly to prevent and issues. Also went to Pime-Line web site and obtained additional information which included an excellent video. Also went online to other sources such as YouTube for additional videos. Saved myself tons of money with this product.

more difficult and time consuming than expected
Much more difficult on one of the locks we worked on. In fact, we don't think the kit is particularly made for the Weiser locks as stated. we had to modify and then work on the keys as well. Not that good an idea. Several hours later, we had rekeyed 3 locks. Would not attempt this again.

Must have key for the lock
I had my doubts about this product when I ordered. Nothing in the description said you have to have a key for the lock, which I did not (keys weren't given for these locks when I bought the house), but the second step in the instructions says so.

              Incorrect pins and no documentation
First of all there were almost no proper documentation and directions. It doesn't show any pictures of what tool to be used and it doesn't describe the process clearly. I had to lose one of my locks since it didn't tell me to hold the lock in a proper way or else the springs fall off and you cannot repair it. The pins were of incorrect size which I could realize only after opening up the lock. This product definitely needs proper documentation or a link to a youtube video and the product should ensure that the pins they send are correct.

Did not work for my Weiser lock
I was able to disassemble my existing lock and remove the existing pins. But when I put the new pins on the new key, the pins protruded from the cylinder holes and prevented reassembly. (To convince myself I knew how things were supposed to work, I was successfully able to "re-key" back to the original key.) After emailing the Prime-line customer support, I got a reply saying "There are some vintages of the Weiser locks that are not compatible, depends on how old your unit is" and suggested I return the product for credit. That's fine I suppose, but I did spend over an hour fiddling with this because I was convinced I was doing something wrong.

              Good idea, bad realization.
In the kit that I'd received, the pins did not match the keys. Using a combination of new and old pins and sanding some of the pins I was finally able to re-key 5 locks. It was an interesting project to me.

Rekeying Weiser single cylinder deadbolt locks
Since I recently purchased a resale home I wanted to re-key the locks for security reasons. I bought this kit and struggled with it for about three hours. I finally had to abandon it as I found that the two colored replacement pins next to the key head were too long. They protruded too far making it all but impossible to insert the cylinder into the cylinder body. I had to force the cylinder into the cylinder body but then could not turn the key.
