Welcome home!
I went away from Weber for a couple of years and I am so happy to be back. This is a great grill and the cart and side table are a nice touch. Set up was easy and we have enjoyed many wonderful meals already. Love my Weber!

Back 2 Charcoal
Needed a new BBQ and decided it was time to go back to a charcoal grill. Since it's been awhile, I forgot how long it took to prep a charcoal grill. However, the end results speak for themselves in the flavor of the meat being grilled which is so so much better than a gas grill. The overall quality of this Weber is fantastic. Easy to assemble for 1 person, but better and faster with 2 or more. Total assembly time was 1.5 hours with 3 of us. The only improvement that I can see is with the handle design for the ash collector. Placing it on and taking it off can be difficult for many, especially if you are up there in age. Rather than having to apply pressure to pull the tabs off its resting place, how about designing one that allows the tabs to be removed and set back into place with a sliding handle? Other than that, I would recommend this charcoal grill.

The performer set up is ideal.
Of course it has the Weber name. No more need to be said. The performer set up is ideal. I love everything about it. The family is getting grilled food several days a week, and don't plan on slowing down.

Easy to use and top quality product
I bought this after doing a lot of research looking for a charcoal grill that I can also use for smoking. With good reviews and satisfied owners, I decided to buy it. I already grilled and smoked meats and I can say I picked the right product. And with Weber’s 10 year warranty, how can I go wrong? I will highly recommend this to anybody.

    A real workhorse!
I've had this grill for three years now and it's been fantastic. Weber grills are well-built and solid. Assembly wasn't too difficult. I've also had fun accessorizing the thing. :) My wife and I have found we prefer preparing buffalo wings on the grill versus the oven. They come out some much better and can be a little more crispy too (how we like them). Definitely recommend this one or really any of the charcoal grills in their line-up.

I received this Weber Performer as a birthday gift. I’ve used Weber Kettle Grills for a round 40 years, and loved ‘em. My second one had gotten pretty well worn. Bottom vents were hard to operate (tabs were all gone), and it was getting nearly impossible to keep heat consistent for indirect grilling. I had bolted the handle back on the lid many years ago, as well as drilled a hole and mounted a thermometer in the lid. I’d gotten to the point that every time I grilled, I said I was going to have to get a new one, and really wanted a Performer. Why a Performer? I wanted the work surface and the ash catcher with single adjustment/wiper for the bottom vents. My wife picked up the only one in Tucson (not the store nearest us), and surprised me with it. She had already thawed a nice beef Tri-tip roast for me to grill, so the next day that was exactly what I did, Santa Maria style. Yummy photo below. Oddly, she had me grill 3 meals out of the next 6 days. OK with me. I love grilled foods, and enjoy grilling them. Grilled chicken breasts another night (no photo), and ugly steaks (available at only one place in Tucson) with Wasabi/Jack Cheese for another. The vents work quite well, as do the wiping arms and ash catcher. Temp is quite easy to control. The 4 wheels make the Performer more stable and much easier to move. Not sure I like the so-called “Gourmet” system. To me, it’s kind of a hassle to remove the center part when I remove the main grill. It also can pop out when brushing, which is definitely a hassle. The table is really nice to keep things like sauces, plates, etc. close at hand, and the utensil hooks are kinda handy. I’ve used hardwood lump charcoal for many years, instead of briquettes. However, lump charcoal is very inconsistent in size and smaller pieces fall through the charcoal grate. I eliminated that “problem” cut a piece of expanded metal to fit (photo below) and that keeps all my coals on the grate. I also close all vents to save charcoal when I’m finished grilling. That requires removing the grill to reuse the old charcoal. Thus the hassle with the “Gourmet” part. I’m a happy old griller again. I know folks with all kinds of grills, but I love my Weber Kettles.

So many features which make grilling easy.
Got for Christmas. Have not had charcoal for years. Love - table extension, grill top so easy to add coals, grill center circle nice for adding initial chimney coals. Large grill surface. Adding wood chips gives a smokey flavor.

The grill assembly required 2 people for part of it (putting on the side table) but it was not difficult. I love this grill because I now have knobs to put my grill utensils and the side table to put a plate. I have a small deck and this grill is the perfect size. I also love that the ashes are contained and easy to dispose of and the grill cover holder is very handy.

As Expected - a great grill
Years ago I had an 18” Weber, I enjoyed it and grilled some great food. When it got damaged in a storm I thought I would try gas for the convenience. After going through a couple cheap grills over the years, I stepped up and purchased a Weber Spirit and have been very pleased. However, I’ve always had charcoal on the back of my mind and finally talked myself into adding the Weber Performer to my patio. This has been a great choice. Whether steaks and corn on the cob over direct heat or smoked pork tenderloin with indirect, the flavor has been amazing. Very happy with my purchase..

This is my 1st Weber Grill and it’s part of my 8 grill & smoker collection and I must say I really enjoy cooking on it, just wish I would have purchased one sooner. Really like the rack for the lib & the ease of clean-up. Great Grill!

Awesome Grill, But the Table needs work
As always, the Weber Kettle Grill is the best bang for your buck! However, the coating or wrap on the fold out table has already started pealing back in some areas, I'm assuming its an issue with the adhesive. I keep all my grills and smokers out of the elements and covered with a grill cover.

      Cool idea folks.
Purchased this grill to replace our weber portable Smoky Joe. Typically we only cook for 2, so the Smoky Joe is great but doesn't have a stand or side table. Here's what to do, take out the middle grill and insert the Smokey Joe right in the middle. The big top even closes over it. This way we can cook for 2 while having the option to cook for more. You can also use the Smoky Joe for the smoking food. Place your chips in the Joe and cook around the outside on the Performer's grill and close the big lid.

        Weber Rocks!!!
The Weber performer grill has a rock solid build quality and the materials used are top notch (see pictures). The assembly and operation of this grill is very straightforward and easy. It takes a while though. The folding side table adds a lot of convenience from keeping seasonings as well as grill tools. It has a provision of hanging the tools when not in use. The lid contains a temperature gauge to control your grilling temperature. The ash catcher is a very helpful addition and make the cleaning super easy. The grill itself is very easy to move around with the caster wheels. Overall very satisfied and will highly recommend it to the charcoal grill fans. Happy grilling!!!

        Always good!
I have been using Weber charcoal grills for about 35 years and they are still a class act. Packaging The grill ships in a package that is very much designed around the specific model, with cardboard inserts and spacers that are precision cut and folded around the parts holding everything in place. Despite all that design however, the folding table part was still close enough to the edge of the shipping carton to get a bit bent during shipping. It resulted in a minor distortion that I was able to bend straight again by hand. Assembly The assembly instructions are pictorial and very clear. It took an hour to assemble. Design improvements. I noticed a number of improvements over previous models. There is now a heat guard under the handle on the lid. Thermometer is now included. Not that it is all that important though. The height is much better than my previous Weber, the grid being about 33” from the floor. This not only is a better working height but also provides more room underneath for when removing the ash pan. I still prefer the old method of hanging the lid on the side with a hook inside the lid as it leaves the lid much lower and out of the way. I will probably attach a hook where the thermometer is attached for that purpose. The lid vent now has an insulated handle. Functionality The stainless steel grid now has a removable section for inserting additional gadgets such as pizza stones etc. One could also add charcoal to the middle. Time will tell if the removable center will be a nuisance when one one wants to remove the entire grid. The Folding table provides a small area to place a platter etc. and seems to be designed as a space saver for people with limited storage space, such as balcony. I will probably fasten it in the horizontal position with a sheet metal screw so that there is no chance of it folding down at a critical time. Air flow is good through the tried and proven lower vents and lids on the lid. First BBQ We did our first test today with some small steaks which we seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and some lime juice. I like the white Weber solid fuel starters. For a central fire I use one covered with some small sticks which we collect in the summer, and I dump a pile of Kingsford briquettes on top of that. While the briquettes are burning I heat up a cast iron fajita skillet for those who like to keep their steak hot at the table. Once the flames die down and the coals are white, I put on the meat and leave the lid off. After a couple of minutes, I turn the meat and put the lid on. The thermometer rose to 450°F. A few minutes later they were done and we enjoyed them with fresh tomato, avocado, pickles and some red wine. They were absolutely scrumptious!

This isn’t your father’s weber grill
This weber grill comes with a table that can be folded down, a place to put the lid, a tray underneath and a steel bowl to collect the ashes. Part of the grate lifts up on both sides so you can add more charcoal. Also the middle of the grill comes out so you can put in other special accessories like a pizza cooking stone. Check out the pictures. It was a bit challenging putting it together because the instruction pictures weren’t quite as clear as they could have been. It would have been nice if it came with a cover but that is another thing I'm sure you can buy separately.

This is the perfect weber. Very stabile and a nice shelf to hold food or remote temp gauge but not too large. The bottom basket works great for placing the hot charcoal starter. Assembly was very easy took less than an hour and I'm a slow 70 year old grandpa. I have owned Weber Kettle's for 40 years and this is the nicest Great Work Weber!!!
