I ordered 5 pieces of this. 4 were fine, the 5th was warped horribly and had knots in it -- unusable. Fortunately, I over ordered, so ended up with enough material from the 4 good pieces. I like the fact that they angled the backside of the trim so you can easily plane it down if the inner dimension is too thick for your existing casing. My casing stock was 5/8" thick and I needed to plane it a bit. Backband is really hard to find, so if you do need it, just order more than you need and you should be fine.

The item was shipped as displayed on order. There were a few nicks along the backband, however it suited the purpose.

Nice quality and stains well.

Good product that is close to the original trim in my house. The side length is only 1/2 inch and does not go full 3/4 inch. So be prepared for gap between trim and wall.

If anyone wants to enhance the look of boring clamshell casing or any other flat stock trim, this backband molding is a way to bring boring trim to life. I installed this molding throughout my house around door casings, window casings and what a difference. All you need is a mitre saw and a finish nailer and your off. The pine is free of knots and paints brilliantly. Must be primed first for a perfect finish.

The molding work well for my project

Backband was delivered as promised. Ordered 22 pieces and when I received them it was obvious they were hand packed. One piece is so warped, I'm not sure if I can use it and may have to return it. As this product is designed to accommodate different thickness of trim, it has to be ripped to fit my particular molding. I find it very sad that your picker would ship an obviously warped product to your customer.

I purchased a slightly older house that had some nice molding touches, including this backband molding on the door casings. Home Depot ended up being the only local place that I could get it. This moulding is high quality, and makes a standard door casing look much nicer... if you don't have backband on your door and window casings, you should consider adding it. It makes a large difference for a small price.
