Pros and cons
Overall, this medicine cabinet mirror is higher quality than some others I checked out. It looks good, is functional, the doors close softly and it holds a lot. However, I am disappointed that the little round make-up mirror is not magnified and I had to insert putty into the slot so it's won't slide down. In retrospect, I think I paid too much for it.

RUN, don’t walk, from Kohler! Absolute GARBAGE
WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS! Here to echo the other reviews who have issues with the cord that powers the lighted doors. Bought this product in Feb 2019 and now the lights are dead just three years later. There’s a lame 1 year warranty so the best Kohler will do is allow me to buy replacement parts at 50% off…which is another $400 on top of the original price I paid! Unbelievable. Shouldn’t be unreasonable to expect a medicine cabinet product to last more than three years before it needs replacing.

Beautiful sleek design of these medicine cabinets. Flush mounted into the wall is how we installed them one over each sink. Absolutely stunning design.

Hello, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble installing the plug on the bottom of your cabinet. Even after installation, it is not too late to relocate the plug. You should notice a connection point at the top and bottom. This will allow you to orientate the cabinet in the wall either way (upside down or right side up). The bottom plug can be used to power the cabinet. Please email us at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com for additional assistance. We're here to help! -Sarah S. Kohler Customer Service

After 2 years of use the mirror door shows desilvering that will continue to grow, as per Kohler rep. I was offered replacement door at 50% discount. You are supposed to use only alcohol to clean the mirrors to avoid this.

Hi Lucy, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am sorry to read your Verdera mirrored medicine cabinet door has started to desilver. This is uncommon during normal use and is usually indicative of the mirror coming in contact with a cleaner that has ammonia or vinegar in it. Other known causes are salt air, humid air and sweat from your fingertips. To prevent desilvering we suggest following our Care and Cleaning guide here: http://goo.gl/ubtzwU We do understand your frustration and would really like to assist you further. Please contact us by email at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com and provide us with a picture of the cabinet and the name(s) of cleaners that have been used. We look forward to helping you soon! Sarah S. Stay away
We installed two of these - they are poorly made: 1. They both started desilvering at the edges pretty early on and now look terrible. 2. The cord on one door failed so now only one side is illuminated 3. The inner magnifying “mirror” is plastic junk that they tape together If you’re outside of the one year warranty, don’t expect Kohler to do anything for you. I even offered to buy replacement doors but they told me they couldn’t sell just the doors..

Hi Lewis, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm very sorry to hear about the problems you've encountered with your Verdera cabinets. This is nothing you should expect when you choose a premium Kohler product. Dark spots or streaks around the edges of a mirror are a sign of desilvering. Desilvering occurs when the silver backing on a mirror lifts and starts becoming worn. Moisture is the main cause of mirror desilvering. To help prevent it, we suggest wiping down any steam and water droplets from the mirror immediately. Do not spray the cleaner directly onto the mirror. We recommend spraying a towel with the cleaner, and then wiping down the mirror. We have seen vinegar-based cleaners and cleaners containing ammonia can accelerate the desilvering process. Please avoid using these cleaners on your mirror. Fixing a desilvered mirror is a tedious process. We recommend contacting a glass professional in your area to resilver your mirror. Please contact Kohler Co.’s Customer Care Center by emailing KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We do have replacement options for you. Thank you. -Sarah S. Kohler Customer Service

              BUILT IN DEFECTS
I purchased Two. At 18 months the mirror(s) behind the shelves detached. They are held on by TWO SIDED TAPE! KOHLER said “Unfortunately your out of the ONE YEAR MANUFACTURING WARRANTY. “I“ should remove the cabinets and use CONSTRUCTION ADHESIVES to reattach the back mirror”. I paid an electrician $350 to run the electrical wires and install it. Now the power cord that connects to the lights broke. Go to the Kohler website and read the reviews there. Everyone is having the same problem within two years of purchase. This medicine cabinet needs to recalled and these problems addressed.

                Must have for standard width
If you have the standard 15-16 inch wide opening this is the best cabinet. Three years ago I replaced a very small plastic cabinet with cheap but larger 16/26 one. As my beauty supplies continued to grow I needed more space. I was excited to find a 30 high cabinet that fit in my standard width! Having all the surfaces mirror is so luxurious and all my stuff fits so nicely

                  Poor quality! Buy something else!
I’ve had this cabinet for two years now, and I regret spending almost $1000 for what I thought was a quality product. The cable that runs power to the door is poorly made and broke where it meets the connector. When I contacted Customer service, they said I have to buy an entire power unit which would be almost $300...for one cable! So now I have a cabinet with built-in lights that don’t work unless I want to spend 1/3 of the cost of the entire cabinet. Additionally, the mirror is fallling apart around the edges, as if the reflective part is disintegrating.

A little on the pricey side but well worth the cost. It’s Kohler so you know it’s a top shelf product. Very smartly assembled hangs easily. Takes two people to install. You won’t regret it ... just bite the bullet and do it. Have installed seven now ... the last I installed two mirror together side-by-side with 1/2” in between. Will include picture of that.

This is a nice looking cabinet and fairly well built, but when we simply placed the door on our tile floor during installation a small sliver of glass chipped off the corner. The siding interior mirror is so useful especially since it can be adjusted for different heights. Lots of storage space and the mirror looks so nice in the bathroom. If you do a wall mount, don't forget to order the kit with the two side mirror panels. Only need one kit because it includes two side mirror panels. Only have had it in the bathroom for a few days but I'm enjoying it so much! It definitely met my expectations.

“The Bold Look of KOHLER” That’s what they say!
It is a true statement. I love this mirror, the sleekness, the storage. Installing this lighted mirror cabinet was easy in the basic removing old and moving around the frame. That’s where it stopped. The cabinet was nicely packaged in its shipping carton. It comes unassembled, meaning you’ll have to do the inside cabinet wiring, I’m assuming it’s shipped this way so the installer can have the door swing either way. The instructions read to insert the light and outlet wires into the “wire connector”. I couldn’t get the power wires from the wall to stay in the connector in the mirror. I had to use wire nuts, this was simple enough, but took some time. The finished installation is a nice lighter mirror cabinet.

Kohler “Veranda” series 30” x 20” Lighted Medicine Cabinet
This lighted cabinet was perfect for my small bathroom. It is clean looking and has 3 glass adjustable shelves which are supported by clear plastic guides. The shelves must be perfectly aligned in order to slide into the supports. Do not force or you may break a corner of the shelf. Once installed, the shelves do not move in any direction and will not fall out. The installation instructions were designed and the illustrations were clear. I chose to “surface mount”. The hangers are slick and easy to install. Once the hangers are installed, you can easily hang the cabinet then secure the bottom with the four plastic anchors and support. The key is to determine the best method for wiring. In my case, I did not need to wire up the interior receptacles because I have available GFCI adjacent to the cabinet. My wire came in the wall near the top and at the center. I cut a slot in the sheet rock and laid the wire so as to come out even with the upper right pre punched hole. I ran the wire down from the top adjacent to the cabinet. It does not show unless you lean in and look. I found the power supply could be mounted near the top or the bottom (as shown) Unfortunately the power supply box leaves 2..625” below the box and 1.75” above if you install a glass shelve in the first available support holes above the box. It would have been better to have the power box flush with the bottom of the cabinet. Any appliance plugged into the power box receptacles may remain so as the cord(s) will clear the cabinet between the cabinet and the door. The instructions call for a dimmer switch and I followed the instructions as the full brightness was more than adequate for my relative small bathroom. The most difficult step in installation for me was installed the two small retaining screws which secure the power box to the brackets. My hands and my wife’s hands were too large to get under the box to install the screws. After 45 minutes of trying, I finally used the supplied Allen wrench to balance the screw near the hole and make a quarter to half turn to start the threading. There must be a better way to install this power box. Connecting the wires inside the power box was easy, just be careful with the orange tabs that pull out to a 90 deg stop. It takes an inordinate amount of force to pull the tab to the 90 deg position. You think you may break the tab. (See photo) In lieu of purchasing the optional side mirrors or wood side trim, I chose to use available materials in my garage. I used a piece of Azec (PVC) 3.5” x 30”. I glued three small 3”x 7/16” blocks to the board in position to line up with the two pre drilled holes at top and bottom. One block was centered between two shelf bracket holes. That hole was then drilled from the inside. Since the right side is not normally visible, I choose to leave that side without trim. You could spend the $100 plus for the side mirror kit or the colored wood kit. You might be able to find a kit cheaper on one of the online sites.

Looks Very Good after install. I like the lights and storage space
Mirror looks great !!!! Installation was fairly easy. It was about what I expected. Be sure you have the proper tools. I needed to purchase a dimmer switch for LED lights on the mirror and 14 gauge wire. Originally, I had 12 gauge wire, but it didn't fit in the "push-in holes" in the back of the outlet so I had to remove the outlet and tie in the wire(see attached picture). The measurements they give you for the recessed mount give you a little extra room. Unfortunately, after the install, you can see the screws on the left side of the mirror that I put into the 2X4 frame from the side. This really only happens if you look at the mirror from the side, you don't see them when you look directly at the mirror. No big deal but would have been easier to mud and finish before I completed the install. The outlet and light bar was a little difficult to mount flush due to only two screws(one on each side) on the bottom and none on the top. Ensure you organize the wires neatly prior to mounting. If it doesn't mount flush you can see the wires in the mirror. You also lose some storage space in the cabinet due to the outlet and light bar. It comes with three shelves but you are limited on the distance between shelves due to the outlet and light bar and door hinges. Also not a fan of the power cord to the door for the lights, a little big and doesn't look great. Took about 2hrs to install, a little more than planned but well worth it. Overall I am happy with the mirror and more importantly my wife is happy!!!!

Gorgeous Cabinet, Super Bright, All Metal and Glass, Requires Trim Kit for Surface Mount
Wanting to replace a surface mirror on a wall that cannot be cut into, I found this surface mount cabinet to be the best option. This gorgeous model by Kohler fits that need perfectly and adds stylish and bright LED lighting to the mirror face. WHAT YOU GET: You'll get the metal and glass cabinet and all hardware to install it recessed or surface mount. Screws, and wall mount bracket included. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Screwdrivers, drill, electrical wiring to power lights and the internal outlet. If you will be surface mounting this you will also need the Kohler side trim kit for this model of your choice. I used the mirrored trim kit. INSTALL: You will need to wire this kit up from an existing electrical source. To hang the cabinet on a wall for surface mount you will install the wall mount brackets and then simply hang the cabinet like a large picture frame and secure it down with the included screws. Hanging the cabinet and wiring it in will take about two hours total with one person. CONSTRUCTION: The cabinet is all metal and glass. No fiber board or wood parts for the cabinet. It is made well and should last a very very long time. It is solid, all corners were perfectly square. The door is hung on slow close hinges. LIGHTING AND MIRRORS: This cabinet has two full length LEDs built into the surface mirror. They provide the perfect lumens for putting makeup on, shaving, cutting hair, etc. Very bright and a nice cool color temp. There are mirrors on the surface, interior back wall and interior door that cover the full surface. There is also a pull out sliding magnifying mirror that works great. This thing is all mirrors and looks clean and clear. The LEDs are dimmable. SHELVING: You are provided three glass shelves and all are adjustable inside with multiple mounts. Plenty of room to adjust each one to fit glasses, med bottles, shaving foam, anything you need to store. OUTLET: This also has a built in electrical outlet on the bottom of the cabiner for powering your razor, hair curler, etc. Very handy. OVERALL: The best word to describe this cabinet is gorgeous. It's well built, I LOVE the inset LEDs in the surface mirror and installation is fast and easy with the excellent instructions supplied. I highly recommend it. Remember, if you want to install this as a surface mount you will need the trim kit specified in the instructions.

This is a good quality product, spacious and looks great.
This mirrored cabinet is large and nicely finished. Installation If you wish to be able to dim the lights of the cabinet you will need to supply a dimmer that is appropriate for LED lighting with a minimum rating of 150W. If you just want to switch the lights on and off at full brightness, then you need to provide a switch. The cabinet contains a dual receptacle (inside) and if you wish to have power there you will need to provide a power line for them in addition to dimmed lighting power. There are two ways to mount this cabinet. It can be surface mounted, in which case you need to buy the additional side kits, or it can be mounted in a recess in the wall, in which case you will need to do a bit of framing with 2x4 lumber. The installation guide covers 4 different models that share the same design and installation process, but are of different sizes. The guide specifies what size to make the recessed hole in the wall. None of the sizes in the chart are anywhere close to the size hole that is needed to mount this cabinet. You need to frame a hole 32½” by 28” I was replacing an old, smaller cabinet in an existing bathroom. Cutting the drywall and studs out was relatively straightforward but framing the sides of the hole without having to redo the drywall was rather tricky. The cabinet is fastened onto the two vertical sides of the recess. There is an enclosure that goes inside the cabinet to house the LED drivers and the power receptacle. This enclose runs horizontally across the entire cabinet. This enclosure has places for power cables to come in from both ends. If you are going to use a dimmer for the lights and power the receptacles, then you need to bring two power lines in, one from each side. The instructions said to remove the doors, by removing the hinges from the cabinet, until the cabinet itself is properly mounted in the wall. This is good advice, however, the screws holding the hinges onto the cabinet were so tight I was not able to unscrew them. I unscrewed the doors from the hinges instead - those screws were possible to remove. There is a small problem with an illustration on page 12 of the instructions, it attempts to show the orientation of a strain relief on a cable. It does not, however, indicate which of the two strain relief pieces is being illustrated, and since there are two of them at 180° to each other, the illustration is totally ambiguous! The electrical connection from the LED driver enclosure to each door is duplicated top and bottom so that the orientation of the doors can be reversed. There are caps to cover the connections not being used, and each cap has a small plastic tether to prevent the cap from being lost. These plastic tethers are extremely brittle. This is not a big problem since there should be no reason to remove these caps after installation. Because of the location of my existing electrical wiring, I decided to install the power enclosure near the top of the cabinet instead of the bottom. The power enclosure clips onto two small brackets and is usually held in place by two small bolts that are threaded upwards into the brackets on the underside of the power enclosure. There is very little space around where these bolts have to be inserted and a small Allen wrench is supplied to tighten them. Since I was installing my power enclosure at the top of the cabinet, these screws are now at the top of the enclosure. Even though I had to thread them downwards it was very tricky to get them started, despite having gravity on my side, threading them downwards. I imagine that trying to thread these in from below with such a tiny clearance must be really difficult to do. If installing the enclosure at the bottom, it may be best to install the enclosure ‘upside down’ to that the screws can be inserted and accessed from above. Since I already have a GFCI receptacle right next to the sink, plus the fact that getting an electrical cable to the far side of the cabinet would require extensive work (and new drywall), I decided not to bother connecting the dual receptacle in the middle of the power enclosure. Clearly retrofitting this into an existing wall is more complicated than installing it as new work, before the drywall has been added. Installing this in a new wall would be a much simpler operation. General The hinges are strong and the doors open and close very nicely. The light is emitted through a long vertical ‘window’ on each door and is a warm white color. Three glass shelves are supplied and there is a fair amount of flexibility in the spacing of them. The cabinet looks very polished and smooth and the mirrors look fantastic. There is a magnifying mirror that folds out of the larger door and its height can be adjusted within the height of the door. The light is all external, there is no internal lighting. I did find this surprising as it would have been relatively easy to design it so that some light could also come out of the insides of each door. This would allow one to get light onto the contents of the cabinet using just the cabinet lighting.

First order arrived seemingly undamaged. Once we installed and removed protective blue film, a very small glass chip came off the bottom of the face mirror. A call to Home Depot customer service exceeded my expectations. The rep re-ordered the same mirror for me (I paid again with credit card), rep had it rush shipped at no charge and it arrived in 2 days. This time we peeled off the film BEFORE installing and all was good. We packed up the damaged one and returned it to the local HD store for a full refund. The install is easy (recessed) but after multiple door adjustments, we couldn't get the top right corner of the door to close flush with the rest of the cabinet. We attributed it to walls not being exactly plumb due to the rough carpentry part of the project. It is not noticeable except when staring straight at it from the side. It's a beautiful simple mirror with a clean, modern look. The inside magnifying mirror is "OK" and happened to come with the cabinet size I needed. It works for me but isn't necessary. There are mirrors inside and out. Beautiful cabinet with slow close door, which is nice.

Huge mirror with plenty of storage. I only gave it two stars however because the one I received looks used. When I received the mirror I only opened the package to make sure nothing was broken. I looked at it closely when I cleaned it and was going to put in the shelves after my carpenter had already installed it. This is also when I discovered you can't put the shelves in after the doors are already on. Now I have to removed the doors, put in the shelves and put the doors back on. The mirror has several blemishes. I have no idea what the white circle is up in the corner, but it won't come off. As for the other areas they look worn. I can't think of any other explanation for it except it was used. I guess for the price of this mirror and fact is was from Kohler I expected a lot more. If I would've notice the blemishes before it was installed I would have returned the mirror. I've attached pictures of the major areas, but besides these they are scratches too. I don't know if I should call Kohler. It's already installed and I don't want to pay someone to take this down and put up another one.

The Verdera recessed medicine cabinet reflects classic Koehler quality and style. My client loved how it protruded only 1" from the wall. Very solid structure and mirrors everywhere, inside and out.

I recently purchased 2 of these medicine cabinets for a bathroom remodel. They're a bit on the pricey side, and you have to buy the extra side pieces if you want a finished look and can't do a recessed installation. That said, these are big, roomy, clean, elegant medicine cabinets. They're simple to install and went up relatively easily. Getting to that point was a bit challenging, as one of the ones originally received had a crack in the glass on the corner. HD was a breeze to deal with though, and had another one to me in a couple of days. Once up, installing the shelves into the little plastic brackets is VERY fussy. Don't do it in a rush or you'll end up scratching the aluminum finish or worse. Once I figured out the technique, it wasn't too bad for the first cabinet. But for the second one, some minor adjustments were required to the brackets. The fit is REALLY close and no matter what I tried, they wouldn't go in. A few minutes and a little scraping on the inside of the bracket gave me the room I needed to finally get them in. All in all, good cabinets and the finished look is what I was going for.

It's expensive but the quality is amazing. Purchased due to the magnifying mirror inside the vanity. My dad wall mounted - and still doing a new light and some wall repair so sides aren't up yet but very functional and just love it.

                        Excellent bathroom cabinet
I chose this cabinet to replace the original one supplied by the builder in 1959. It seemed similar to the cabinet I had installed in one of my other bathrooms around twenty years ago but it was much larger and far less expensive. My wife loves this new cabinet. It holds all of her supplies, the mirrors are top quality, the construction is quite solid and the materials used are first class. In addition , my handyman had absolutely no trouble in making the installation. Literally, absolutely nothing to complain about. I should add that my wife and I also appreciate the fact that the attached magnifying mirror can be slid up and down so that our different heights can be easily accommodated. That is a marvelous feature. Finally the cabinet was delivered to our door on time and there was no damage to the container or cabinet. All in all a very satisfying experience. No hesitation in recommending this item or Home Depot as the Supplier.
