My bathroom faucet dripped when turned off... This was so easy to install and fixed my leaking faucet. The handle also turns so smoothly now.

SUper fast fix, saved over $100 doing it myself...

Was the proper replacement valve cartridge. Dropped in, tightened up necessary components. Faucet repaired.

I cant say whether this valve stem would have been effective, because after i got it i discovered that the whole faucet was basically shot. the original valve stem it seems was corroded to the point where it abruptly started shooting water everywhere. The nut holding it down had completely corroded. basically, lifetime warranties don't really mean lifetime, they mean about a year these days. that pretty much sums it up.

The local Home Depot didn't stock American Standard replacement cartridges however it was available online. I ordered 2 with free shipping. Rec'd within a week. Since I had kept the original info on the facet I was able to order the cartridge by exact part number.
