We like the way we can block light with this shade. We ordered white. However, as you can see in the photo, this is anything but white (except where there is light leakage around the edges). We were hoping to match our white ceiling.

I was worried about installing these at first. The instructions are very easy to follow and it virtually snaps together in place with just a few screws for support. You don't have to measure anything as the clips have spacers to align them and they just screw in. The remote is pre-programed so after install you just start using it. Highly recommend them.

Hope it last a long time as they are installed 20 ft up in the ceiling. Easy to install following the directions and operate well after installing.

These blinds are worth every penny! Extremely easy to install, fit like a glove and reduce both light and heat tremendously. Would absolutely recommend them.

Originally, I requested help from manufacturer of our skylight (Velux). Velux provided no assistance and didn't even list this product on their website. They told me my installation was custom and they didn't offer a product to provide light filtering. I found product on Home Depot website and decided to order. Installed with some filler trim and liked result. After installation I sent an email to Velux explaining how this product helped solve a need that I had for a custom Velux skylight. I recommended they add to database for future reference and customer support needs. Thank you Home Depot for offering this "Velux" product with sufficient detail to help homeowners willing to work around non-standard product sizes.

Easy to install, darkens the room beautifully. I'm very happy with the purchase. Kids finally sleep past 5.30 am!!!

These solar powered blinds are great! We purchased three blinds for our velux skylights, one light blocking for our bedroom and two light filtering. They were very easy to install with clear instructions and even came with a little screwdriver for the supplied torx head screws. They have been in a couple weeks and are functioning fine using the supplied remote controls. Each blind has its own remote that only operates that blind. The remote manual says you could program one remote to operate all blinds but one for each is just the way we want it. The light blocking blind keeps our bedroom dark with no noticeable light seepage. The light filtering allows light through without glare. These blinds are great and I would definitely recommend them.

The blind was specifically designed for the skylight model I have but I had to have a Velux pro come to install it (for $125) and he had a difficult time. Then it didn't fit right. It was too long for the skylight (seemed to have one slat too many) and left light gaps at the edges. When trying to shorten the blind he discovered (too late) that it's no longer possible to do that, due to the design so he had to order a new blind. That was 3 weeks ago because he hasn't been back to my area. So I have aluminum foil taped over the skylight to keep out the summer heat. The new blind is due to be installed in another week but he's only HOPING that it will have been manufactured to the exact size needed. I had previously installed (by myself) Velux pleated shades on 2 skylights in my last house, which went up easily and I loved them but they are no longer offered. I'm told the venetian blinds will soon be discontinued, also. I can see why, if their manufacturing tolerances are as lax as on this one. I don't hold out much hope for the replacement to fit correctly, either.

I absolutely love the skylights. We bought them about 10 years ago and they have been great. I have one problem. One of the solar powered shades has quit working, I replaced the batteries in the remote and it still wouldn't work so i tried the remote on one of the other shades and it worked just fine. What can I do now? Can we replace the solar power part of the shade.

Easy to install, nice upgrade to our old blinds.

Because these shades are specifically made for the model of skylight you are installing them in, they fit perfectly. The instructions are cryptic and nearly useless. A couple Utube videos were very helpful. It took 2 hours to figure out and install the first one, 20 minutes for the second

No option to tilt the blind open or close. Didn’t expect it like that when bought. Very disappointed with purchase

We had replaced an old skylight style window with a Velux window and needed a shade to block out the light since the window is installed in a bedroom. We looked online for options and many were overpriced and getting accurate measurements seemed complicated. We wanted easy installation as well. We found these blinds that were designed for our model window here at Home Depot. We couldn't be happier. The price was reasonable, no measuring because they are made for our window, installation was so easy and they really are room darkening. These blinds were a great purchase for us and we would recommend them to others.

These blinds require an additional bracket for the model of window I have and this bracket must be installed from the outside on my skylight.

Very easy installation

We had three skylights that faced south. In the summer, the incoming solar radiation was excessive so i ordered these solar operated blinds. They are expensive but: very easy to install - fantastic directions, work great!

These are great. We are so happy we went with the Velux. They are made specifically for velux skylights, so they fit perfectly. Someone offered to install for $75 per blind, but we decided to do it ourselves. They were easy to install; definitely the right decision.

Sent Home Depot the measurements they requested and the blinds did not fit. They sent blinds that were too large.

Easy installation! Did all 3 skylights in 30 mins. Work flawlessly

Did not fit . Frame 1/4 inch to big for total width of opening.

A little less diffusion than we would have liked. Shines a definite beam that makes glare on our TV. Otherwise, easy to install. Looks nice, works like a dream.

Returned did not fit, reordered and waiting on delivery

The blinds themselves are very good. However the size didn’t fit my skylights and I had to cut and install trim work in order to use them. My windows are Velux FCM 2246 but they are nearly 20 years old. I called to confirm I ordered the correct size. Later found out they used to make an adaptor kit but that is no longer available. Good product but be careful you get the right size.
