We like the way we can block light with this shade. We ordered white. However, as you can see in the photo, this is anything but white (except where there is light leakage around the edges). We were hoping to match our white ceiling.

I absolutely love the skylights. We bought them about 10 years ago and they have been great. I have one problem. One of the solar powered shades has quit working, I replaced the batteries in the remote and it still wouldn't work so i tried the remote on one of the other shades and it worked just fine. What can I do now? Can we replace the solar power part of the shade.

I bought 2 in mid 12/20. They arrived in a week...great. They were easy to install but here are some tips for the FS/M08 model of window only. The instructions are all pictures...no words. Follow them exactly in order. One critical item NOT in the instructions is the guide string handling. The strings on each side of the motor are wound around a plastic bracket that holds the motor to the base for shipping. The string MUST be fully unwound from that clamp and the motor before you install the guide rails. There is a channel for the string on the motor base that it MUST be in when you slide the guide rails in place. Otherwise you will be taking the rails apart when you find out the strings are hung up and can't be attached to the base of the rail. There are 2 small mounting brackets to install at the base of the window. The model identification plate will probably be in the way of one of them. Remove the plate and save it. Finally, your drill will damage the base of the window frame when you drill the hole for the lower mounting bracket. Put painters tape over the base of the window frame before drilling. Other then those items install is easy to do but you must have some DIY mechanical skills.

It was very easy to install. Guests in this bedroom are very happy that they can now sleep in on sunny mornings. Works quietly and consistently.

They really keep the heat out, never had a problem with them great quality! Been a customer for 15 years.

We have used them for years but now have a battery issue with one of them. How and where do I find replacements for 833442?

these blinds are fantastic. they make the skylight so much more functional and energy efficient.

The blinds are easy to operate and install. They work great..just wish they were a whole lot cheaper.

I thought the units were pricey until I checked with shade shops - these units have more features at less cost.

Instructions were tough to understand (only had pictures), but after the first installation it was easy. Works well and looks good.

The shade does what it's supposed to - complete light blocking. Very easy to install - IF you are careful to read all the instructions carefully before you start and along the way. I wish it were a LITTLE less expensive, but there is a tax rebate (good for a few more years, apparently) that helps.
