We like the way we can block light with this shade. We ordered white. However, as you can see in the photo, this is anything but white (except where there is light leakage around the edges). We were hoping to match our white ceiling.

I absolutely love the skylights. We bought them about 10 years ago and they have been great. I have one problem. One of the solar powered shades has quit working, I replaced the batteries in the remote and it still wouldn't work so i tried the remote on one of the other shades and it worked just fine. What can I do now? Can we replace the solar power part of the shade.

It was very easy to install. Guests in this bedroom are very happy that they can now sleep in on sunny mornings. Works quietly and consistently.

They really keep the heat out, never had a problem with them great quality! Been a customer for 15 years.

We have used them for years but now have a battery issue with one of them. How and where do I find replacements for 833442?

these blinds are fantastic. they make the skylight so much more functional and energy efficient.

Best purchase!! I previously had a semi light blocking shade on the skylight over my bed-so I got up when the sun came out! I replaced my skylight and decided to get a black out shade and could not be happier with the choice! I purchased this item in late October and it arrived within 3 days- much quicker than the on-line checkout indicated. I initally looked at ordering from another site but Home Depot had the shade for $50 less plus at the time free shipping. The shade is supposed to be an easy install- which I think it would have been but I had issues with how high the skylight is and how it was boxed in. My guess is depending on how savvy you are it may take 20-30minutes. Downside- the directions were not the best/easiest to follow but eventually I was able to put it together. After you install the shade you do have to sync the control/pad to the shade which was a little tricky but worked. Overall I am very impressed with the shade. It works perfect, has an easy to use remote that allows you to completely open or shut the shade or stop it wherever you want (you do not have to mount the pad on the wall; you can leave it in a drawer like I do), it completely blocks out light and it is solar powered which means no wires or mess. I have only been using the shade for a few weeks but I am highly impressed and think it is a great price for the product- plus you get a tax credit for solar powered items!

Velux only carries this product in white in the U.S. In the UK you can choose from 40 colors and even different type fabrics. Come on Velux of the US, it's the 21st century! Everything about this powered shade is well done and exceeded even my expectations which is hard to do. The only thing that ruins it is the vinyl fabric and no color choice.
