I upgraded a little while ago to this fantastic machine! I read reviews how it was difficult to get the machine to start suctioning the bags, but I found it was only a matter of moving the bags around slightly until the suctioning begins. It is fast and with the attachments that are available, I can seal anything! I use the jar sealers for the jars, the zipper lock bag sealer for the zipper lock bags. This is one of the best investments I could have made, being on a fixed income, since I can buy in bulk and keep it fresh. No more throwing out freezer burned meats, limp vegetables or stale snacks and breads. You can only save money with this machine and I use it at least 2-3 times a day. I love it!

I love this V3440! I had mine for months and it works great! I never had a problem with it! My aunt has an upright foodsaver, kind of similar to this one and hers works great as well when I tried it! I convince my girlfriend to get foodsaver too and she was glad she did! I love the upright design its perfect on my counter! I love it! This is a great product and it works well. No more freezer burn! Christmas Day we had 2 turkey to fry, so on Christmas eve, we injected and coated the turkey with marinate, then foodsaved it using an expandable bag! Not only the turkey tasted GREAT, but we spent less time preparing in the kitchen on Christmas day! We simply removed it from the bag and put it in the fryer! I use my foodsaver an average of 4-5 days a week and I will never be without a foodsaver ever!

This product was always one of those, "One day I'll get one.." I finally said, "This is that time!" Gas prices are back up and so are food prices as well. So it only made since to start saving and stop wasting. This was the last one on the shelf... Sorry. Looked to be too good of a deal to pass up. Also bought some extra rolls and bags. Started by vacuuming all my steaks and meats from those family size packages. This is a great way to section meals into just whats needed sizes, without defrosting more than what's needed. The unit worked great! Most of the process is automatic, so patience and a few trials was all it took to becoming a VACUU-BAG MASTER!! So far so good. Thinking about ordering the marinade canister next. It does what it says and that makes it a good buy.

I enjoy making soups and have always kept bones from various dinners in the freezer – chicken, prime rib, pork… then when I was ready to make a soup, I’d start by grabbing some of the bones to make my stock. My wife noticing all the bones, and suggested that I take time to make the stock now and freeze the stock rather than the bones. “This way (she explained) the stock is always ready!” Great idea! However, I did not have enough containers to keep the stock in. So Pam went to the store to get containers and I started working on the stocks. Instead of buying small plastic containers, Pam came back with a Food Saver. After my initial shock (expecting a small purchase), we began to find uses for this new item. I must say that the Food Saver is the most useful item in the kitchen. I would guess that I use the Food Saver at least 4 – 7 times a week. I use it not only for stock, but for just about everything I put in the freezer, plus coffee, pine nuts, bread, and other items that we buy in bucks such as rice, and pastas. And I use it for many things besides food, such as sealing caulking tubes and glue. The big secret to finding uses for a Food saver is to keep it plugged in and on your counter. One day, in an effort to clear up some counter space, we actually took the Food Saver and other items out of the kitchen and stored them in another room. Two weeks later the Food Saver came back into the kitchen (everything else remained in the other room.)

i love it, it was not my first. I use it all the time. I had fresh tuna sealed for 3 years and when I went to use the tuna it was as fresh as when I sealed it.

So glad I pitched the old food saver out. This new one is so much better!! Love it!!

Purchased this machine so that I can seal bread, baked goods without the vacuum seal, as well as vac seal meats, fruits and vegetables.

I just purchased this vacuum sealer a month ago, and I'm wondering why it took me so long to own one. I cook almost everything from scratch and preserve a lot of my own garden produce, so having a better way to package foods to stay fresher longer makes sense...enter the V3440 sealer. It's simple to use, and the sale price was reasonable. I bought a variety pack of bags and rolls so I can see which sizes work best for me. I also got the ziplock adapter so I can extend the storage time of salad greens in the fridge...works great. We buy meats in bulk and repackage them, so one of my favorite things about using the vacuum sealer is thawing the packages in the fridge...no leakage or possible cross contamination.

The new features have definitely made it easier to operate and saves me time too.

I had this same model and it finally died. I am so glad I was able to get the same model to replace it. This is a great sealer for high volume sealing.

I purchased this item about 2 months ago and glad I did.

Bought this since I get lots of lunch meat brand new for a buck a pound. I have a been able to wrap so much.

This is the second Food Saver that I have purchased. I've been pleased with both. This one is so very easy to use. I would recommend purchasing this model of Food Saver.

I have never used this product before, so when I received it & used it the first time I was very impressed. I had one glitch, my fault because I didn't read all the instructions, but really like the product.

Wanted one for several years but wasn't sure if the savings would justify the purchase price. Finally took advantage of a sale that was too good to pass, after several months of use I'm kicking myself for waiting so long when I think back the hundreds of dollars I have lost because of freezer burn and food just turning in the refrigerator because of poor sealing bags and containers. I am extremely happy with my purchase and recommend it to all my friends.

This model is the same as the one I replaced. The Las one served us well for over 9 years. This one has a couple more features (like liquid) which is nice. We have a small freezer and everything gets vacuum packed before going in. Saves us a lot when a good sale comes up. We use the roll bags too. Saves even more. Highly recommend this model.

I purchased my second v3400 Food Saver when they offered a great deal on them . My first one had the bag sealer strip melt , which after reading on these , appears to have been my fault . I not only use this for vacuuming items to freeze , but have since purchased the marinating accessory . IT works fantastic , never had so much flavor added , esp. in so little time , a must have .

I received my first Food Saver as a gift 10 years ago. I bought a new one about a month ago. The features are updated. Being able to buy ahead and in bulk is great. I buy meat 2 times a year and freeze. Saves me time and money.

First one was defective so returned to Foodsaver for replacement. Second one worked but WILL NOT seal any food bags from a grocery store such as frozen chicken nuggets, tater tots etc, This unit has a very narrow slot and impossible to get those bags in to touch the sensor bar that activates the unit. Threw it away and purchased another brand that works perfect!

Not very happy with this purchase. Should have spent more money and bought a better model!!

I thought when I purchased, i will have the ease of vacuum sealing automatically but it doesn't happen very often, its a hit or miss sealing; now I have two of them and I am very disappointed.

We had one went out couple of years ago didn't think we didn't one but we missed it

I upgraded to this one after the seal went out on my original food saver. After about a year the seal stop working on this one too. I love the product when it works but I'm not a fan of having to replace year after year.

I love my new Foodsaver, it is so easy to use and fast. I have only one wish, and that is for foodsaver to come up with something to hold open you bag when putting liquid type foods in the bag, like sauce or chili .

This is my third FoodSaver, I just love them, I use it for more than just sealing food products. It is great to vacuum seal almost anything!

I bought this product to replace one that I had had for eight years and love it. It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of the automatic sealing feature. That is a very handy feature. Great product.

I purchased this about a month ago. All works as stated. However, there is NO retractable vacuum hose. You have to attach it to both the machine and the item to be vacuumed. You have to work a bit to make both connections workable unless you want to have to repeat. Also, their containers have a less sealable seal and the vacuum connection has a different connector. They give you a new coupler, but it is loose and you don't dare lose it! In spite of it's faults, I do recommend it.

I bought 2 of these to use as gifts for Christmas. One of them worked fine, the other didn't seal all the way across and have a heck of a time getting the machine to 'grab' it to seal. I figured Giftee didn't know how to use it and traded my 'good' model with her. BIG MISTAKE. One other problem, it wastes at least 1" of bag on each end. I have owned 2 different models and loved them, but I don't recommend model V3440 for anyone! Save your money and buy a different model.

When my last food saver bit the dust it was time for a new one. I use these a lot! The new one is automatic so when you put the bag into the slot it automatically starts the vacuum/seal process. I will say that it's OK but I really liked the old one better. This one is extremely noisy while vacuuming. Sounds like a freight train roaring thru.
