I am impressed with how good the door is! We have been looking forever for a security screen door and was never happy with how they were made or way out of our price range.
Most happy with the screen part and how strong the material is. Fits perfect and looks good with our wood/glass door.

Door will rust
Door rusting after 3 weeks of installation. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the product.

Unfortunately, all steel doors will rust, particularly in humid and coastal climates. Our steel doors are routinely tested to insure that rust resistance parameters, including powder coating, are at or above industry standards. Doors constructed from aluminum alloy that carry a lifetime, rust-free guarantee are available at Home Depot."

Needed addons were not suggested at time of purchase; had to pay our contractor for two trips after realizing at installation that door sweep and top piece not included in package. Also, not suggested was pneumatic closer. Lockset was suggested. Door is not very thick compared to 36" front door.

"Dear Valued Home Depot Customer,
This door does not come with the door seal kit or a closer. Both can be purchased online or in-store at most Home Depot locations. "

Rust-should have read the reviews
I am calling Home Depot right now to see if I can replace this door. It looks terrible after a few months and with hardly no rain (live in So Cal where we are having a drought!)

"Dear Valued Home Depot Customer,
Unfortunately, all steel doors will rust. Proper manufacturing, preparation and powder coating will inhibit and delay it, but will NOT prevent it. Doors constructed from aluminum alloy that carry a lifetime, rust-free guarantee and are up to 6x stronger than steel are available at Home Depot. "

Rusted, the first time it rained! Not worth the price paid!
I never expected that a door costing this much, would rust out on the first rain. I am not happy! So I checked manufacturer's warranty. Yes paint is warranted. "But not against rust"!!!!!
I should have bought an aluminum door.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer,
Unfortunately, all steel doors will rust. Proper manufacturing, preparation and powder coating will inhibit and delay it, but will NOT prevent it. Within a few miles of the ocean, all steel doors will begin showing rust in less than a year. Doors constructed from aluminum alloy that carry a lifetime, rust-free guarantee and are up to 6x stronger than steel are available at Home Depot.

Awesome door
Beautiful door and the price was great. This is my second security door from Home Depot and if we should need another we will come back. My neighbors liked it so much they ordered one.

The door is nice. the service I received not so much.
Door is nice but in and effort to also keep out flies and small critters you have to purchase an attachment

It is a very beautiful door! It makes our front porch a stand out!
I am so pleased with this door. The cost was so good, it looks like we spent a lot more. It is very heavy so I think it will last.

Great but missed a major flaw
I really like this door- sturdy construction, good color, etc. but unfortunately I didn't inspect it close enough before installation and the top set of bars are welded at an angle instead of straight. Be sure you inspect it thoroughly when you get it. I'm having a hard time living with this mistake but cannot bring myself to purchase a replacement.
Regarding the gap at the threshold from another comment- it's not a design flaw. Your threshold will need to be built forward or replaced with a new one. It's a function of adding a door to the outside of the frame.

Worth the effort and cost!
Great buy! We installed this ourselves in a few hours. The delay was due to the drill we use for household stuff not having enough torque. Looks good, very secure and makes a great screen door. Make sure you have the one way driver that is supposed to be included in the packaging, ours was MIA and we had to double trip. Also it is a little scary working with enormous one way screws just have a good drill.

Awesome security door!
This door is great! Lets fresh air flow through the house and keeps you safe! It's a very strong door with a tough metal screen. We chose this security door specifically because the screen has smaller holes than most security doors so it keeps the bugs out, although tiny gnats may get through. The design is nice! It adds character to the front of the house and looks better in person. Received many compliments.

Security Door
This door was just what I wanted. It is well made and went up easily. It does not come with a closer, which is a drawback. You have to purchase locks and door knobs as well, so all in all, it was not the most convenient purchase for us. Next time I will purchase a whole security door packaged kit.

Nice security door for the price
The door seems to be very secure, looks very good. I got the white finish and you can hardly see into the house in the daylight, which is nice. The screen is almost as fine mesh as a normal window screen, yet extremely heavy duty. A much nicer look and functionality than the expanded metal screens on other security door. The one way bolts that came with the door were very difficult to put in. I read review of the tool needed to install them (and they were not positive) and by suggestion I installed them with a wide blade flat screwdriver. Not easy, but got it done. Once the screws are in, you can't take them back out without cutting the heads off or vice grips, etc. I'm happy with the doors, actually bought two of them. I'd recommend them. The embellishments are fairly rough cast and riveted to the vertical bars, but from a distance looks good.

not very happy
The screen door itself is ok but because it is mounted on the outside frame there is a large gap under the door where bugs and larger critters such as mice, frogs, lizards can get in. We purchased 3 so we could securely leave the doors open at night to get a cool breeze through the house but you have to block the bottom so small animals can't get in during the night

Industry standard for steel security doors at this price level does not include a bottom bar and threshold plate. A Door Seal Kit that includes these parts is available at Home Depot. Combined with proper installation including caulking around the outside of the mounting frame, and door seal kit will address these concerns."

Nice looking door. Too much work to install for my handy man ended up returning it.
My handy man had to rebuild my door frame just to get the door to fit right, then the crazy security screws
that no one has the tool to use. Had to buy different security screw that did not match the door color. Too much trouble. I returned it and purchased a different door.

Using the correct type of frame for a given entryway (surface or recess mount) and in the absence of non-standard elements or obstructions, the security door should install in about an hour. The doors come with a one time use one-way bit. One-way screws and a heavy duty drill bit are also available for purchase at Home Depot."

Excellent product, tough security
This door is SECURE, very well constructed, and has a screen that is both tasteful looking but impossible to cut through without a reciprocating saw or something heavy duty. I have actually received compliments on it from guests. Two gripes: 1. the tamper-proof lag screws that come with the door are somewhat difficult to put in, and be sure you follow the directions because you will only get ONE TRY at it since they are tamper-proof heads. 2. This is specific to older houses, but our house was built more than 100 years ago and because our existing door frame is not perfectly square and the new door obviously is, it can take some patience to get the frame aligned correctly. Definitely a two person installation. Buy today! We are thrilled!

Security door
Excellent quality, nicely finished, very solid.
At first I thought it was warped, but I discovered that my door frame was not square. I had to use shims.

Good buy and a sturdy security door for safety
We have 3 of these doors. Makes us feel safer with small kids in the house, and it's another layer of security as they work well as a security door as well as a screen door.
The wire screen is tough and adequate but you can see clearly through it. We have other ones similar that you can see out, but the outside cannot see in as well. Installed real easy, and is a good heavy duty door. Now we can have the breezes blow thru the house on a nice day, and still be secure.

Very Nice Door!
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of construction and beauty of this attractively priced door. On the down side, we waited about 3 weeks for the door to arrive and the installation was a bit tricky. You may need to purchase additional tools or hardware to install the door using the large screws that were provided.

This is a really nice door
This door came in a tan color (one of the very few that did) that matched our house paint color. We really liked the fact that it didn't have a lot of the scroll-type decorations that others have so it fits the style of our house better. It's a nice, heavy, well-built door and I would recommend it for anyone who needs a security door.

Perfect!
Door is just what I was looking for! Our Jack Russell Terrier went flying through our delicate disappearing screen door, and would have done the same with a regular fiberglass screen as well. This is built like a tank, but does not have the "look" of a security door, very easy to install. The "copper" finish matches our newly installed entry door, we could not be happier with the product....service from Home Depot, not so much sad to say...
