I was happy until...
I've been working on a large project to re-carpet my house with these tiles. I order a few boxes at a time. I've been happy until today. The carpet on the left is what I've been laying for months and the carpet on the right is what I just received. It is a different color and a horrible quality compared to what I've been buying and I ordered the exact same product, confirmed by Home Depot. I sure hope the vendor can fix this because I won't be able to finish carpeting my house if the vendor has changed the color and quality of their carpet tiles!! I called customer service and they said I have to take these to Home Depot for a refund and then re-order.

Charcoal color does not match sample
I first ordered a sample of this carpet tile form the supplier, as Home Depot recommended to me, and I chose the Charcoal color as my favorite. I went ahead and bought 6 boxes of these tiles only to receive them and find they were a totally different color than the sample. The charcoal color I received had a definite blueish-green tint. You can see the difference in color in my photo. We returned these tiles, but the carpet did feel soft and the padding seemed nice. I just wish we could have had them in the color of the sample. So be warned - the tiles may not be the same color as samples. I hope that's not true for every color! I still think I'd recommend this product - just not for it's color!

Just horrible...
Needed to replace the living room wall to wall carpet and thought this would be a great alternative to regular carpet.well to begin with we tore up the old carpet and pad and the tack strips before the tiles arrived, someone messed up and sent us 5 instead of 7 boxes and ir delayed our project for a week,All the tiles are not identical and they do not align straight an eighth of an inch over the course of a whole room makes for a ton of corners that don't line up.Shortly after install little pieces of the backing would pop up on the seems if you pull them the fabric comes out and if you cut them they pop out again. There are about 5 shredded seems all the high traffic areas we covered with small area rugs.to try and hide the seems. What really upsets me is I removed the tack strips and will probably need to replace them all to install a quality carpet.Never again.!!!!

good for the price point
The carpet is not as black as the photo, it's more of a light charcoal color, but worked fine for our theater room. There isn't really any sticky stuff per se on the tiles, I think it's more of a suggestion... they have just enough that they don't slide around, but don't think that these tiles will be "stuck" to the floor. The padding is not bad, thin, but comfortable to walk on. The pile is great height to hide the seams.

Awesome!
I was skeptical about buying this without seeing it in the store but the reviews persuaded me. This carpet tile is awesome! I can't see why anyone would install wall to wall carpet when this is available. I I'll install this from here on out. You can't see any seems anywhere! The only thing is it could have a little more padding but what is there is acceptable! Highly recommend this product.

Excellent DIY project, easy to install.
We are enjoying our new carpet in the basement. We took a big risk by putting a 10lb foam padding down first, and it's paid off, the floor is sturdy yet soft. I think a lighter 5lb would be too much "give" and tiles would pop up in corners. But the 10lb is real nice, found on Craigslist cheap. The Carpet Tiles themselves are charcoal color and went down pretty easily. Only issue was 1 in 20 would but cut badly or too small and would not line up. We did brick pattern to try to mix it up, and definitely use large scheers instead of scissors to cut these. Instead of paying for the extra steps, I just modify the regular 24x24 tiles into a runner for my steps which I like better and saved me money. High traffic areas you may start seeing seems, but that is the risk you take with this. Also any heavy furniture or sofas, do not drag on the carpet, ensure you lift up and drop as pieces can get pulled too easily. Again the stickiness is strong enough to hold onto foam 10lb padding, but it's not perfect. Small risk for extra padding. The dog loves it, so that's all that matters! Little pricey at $2 sq foot but not that bad, but ask Customer Support for 10% if ordering over $1k. They helped me out! Also easy to install if you have stuff already in your basement, just quickly and easily move it from side to side of the basement.

The product has changed!!!!
I too started have a project. When I ran out of tiles and reordered I got 3 boxes of a different gray color. I ordered again and got more of the ugly blue-ish gray color. I had to restart the project and I am not happy with the color at all. I want the original charcoal back! Based on the original product I would have given this 5 stars, but I am so disappointed in what I have ended up with.

    Very Satisfied with Carpet Tiles
We remodeled a basement & applied the carpet tiles directly to the slab. We are very pleased with color, quality &thickness of the tiles. Only con would be, the first three boxes of tiles were exactly 24x24 inches but remaining 8 boxes were cut about 1 inch bigger. You place them on the floor with the arrows all facing the same direction, so there is not an option to turn the tile in order to fit. We wanted to finish the project, so cut & dealt with the issue instead of waiting for replacements. Overall we are really pleased with this product!

    Beautiful and affordable....
Purchased for my guest bedroom. Lighter than the picture but was expecting (and hoping) it would be based on a previous review. Love how it looks.

      Worked Great
I would definitely recommend these if you don't want to spend the money on carpet installation. The color looks different online but they definitely look seamless which is great. They could stick better and I think they are a little pricey for what they are.

      Good for Basement areas
Problems I found with this carpet: 1. The tiles are not always 24x24, so you will have uneven joints when running adjacent lines. You can deal with it, but you will have to make small notches in a laid carpet corner every so often to make a new tile fit squarely within its row and the adjacent row. 2. The online literature said this carpet was 1 inch thickness, but it is not. It's about 3/4 inch thick. The padding is about 1/4 and the pile is about 1/2. 3. Be careful to butt the edges squarely to avoid seeing seams after the carpet is laid and vacuumed out. It's not always as easy you would think. Sometimes I would have a problem getting the carpet laid squarely butted on the two adjacent seams, which can lead to one of two problems: Either you have a gap in the seam, which can be noticeable if its too large, or you end up compressing two seams together, which will give the joint a spongy feel and also be noticeable. 4. Also a problem I had because the tiles are not all 24x24 was I realized at some point that I had installed a tile reversed from the correct orientation (each tile has an arrow on the glue side to point the direction it should be laid). So I pulled the tile up, grabbed a new tile from the box, and laid the new tile in the opening, and to my surprise there was a gap on width side because the tile was not the same size as the one I had pulled up. In the end I ended up re-setting the original tile in the proper orientation. Since this was an end tile that I had already trimmed to fit the wall, I ended up having the trimmed edge butting the manufactured edge of a normal tile, and the not the wall. This is bad because you cannot have a perfect joint when you butt a cut tile to an uncut tile. 5. Another problem because the tiles are not 24x24: The room I did was virtually perfectly square, with one dimension being 13 feet 11 inches. So rather than bisect this dimension and lay the tiles (which would then require wasting about 12-1/2 inches on each end), I decided to start with a full tile on one end and run out to the other end, which should have then required trimming off 1 inch on that end, thus saving a lot of tile square footage. Woe to my surprise when I ran out the tiles to the end and found that I was about 1 inch short of the wall, because some tiles were slightly smaller than 24x24. I was able to fix this problem because I had enough trim waste from other rooms to cut 1 inch pieces that had the proper orientation. My final thoughts: 1. The carpet did not look bad when finished, except you could see some joints here and there where the installation technique was not perfect. 2. Its not bad carpet to walk on, but nowhere near the comfort of decent wall to wall that has a good padding. I thought I'd be getting a 1 inch thickness but it isn't. 3. I'll have to see how it holds up over time, but the adhesive backing seems to stick well so far. 4. I would not install this in an area that you want an excellent look or feel, but for a basement or maybe an older child's room that doesn't need high quality or comfort, it is OK.

      love the carpet
The carpet really looks good and solid. Very easy to install. Got a lot of praise for the look it gave to my son and daughters rooms. i also put it in the living room as i have teens and pets so accidents happen. Easy to pickup and replace a soiled piece. This is very convenient.

What I expected, good with the bad.
Due to a leak in my hall and a fallen tree in my bedroom I found myself having to rip out all of my carpet. Underneath that I found the ugliest tile possible, and poorly maintained at that. However, my budget right now does not allow for a full carpet installation, nor to install laminate flooring, which is my ultimate goal. So, what to do? After some research I decided that carpet tiles were the way to go for my current situation. I found that they were *mostly* very easy to install. The issue is when you reach the point at which you have to start cutting the tiles. Maybe some people will have an easier time with this, but I found it difficult to cut them in a straight line and had to do some pieceing together near the wall. The best option if you have my same issue, is to start by the wall that you see first, and finish at the one that is covered by a bed or couch, etc. The seams are sometimes visible. This isn't a huge deal for me; it is carpet tile after all, and expecting to see no seams at will only set one up for disappointment. If seeing where some of the tiles meet will really bother you, don't install them. I did also find that some of the tiles weren't a perfect square so there were very small spots periodically that weren't lined up as nicely as I would have liked. Not terribly noticeable, but a slight disappointment. Overall, this is a pretty good product, for a pretty good price. My goal was for my house to look presentable again, and these tiles did the trick.

        Carpet
I never give excellent on anything because I think there is always room for improvement, but this comes very close. I was so impressed that I have carpeted two bedrooms with it.

        Wonderful
I was looking at this carpet for a long time but I was worried about it not being what I wanted.. I shouldn't have worried for a second. the home depot close to me didn't have a sample of the carpet so I had to buy it blind, but it was totally worth it... the carpet tile is not as dark as the picture (it's more of a medium gray) but it is so comfy! The pad is thick and the carpet is lush.. most carpet stores I went to had ugly carpet tile at $4 a square foot and it's hard as a rock... this carpet tile is $2 a square foot and lush and beautiful and perfect. It cost me $800 to carpet my floor in the basement and WAY easier to install myself..

        EXCELLENT!!
We've not had much wear on this carpet yet as my husband just installed it. But; it looks amazing. You cannot see the joints at all! He placed in directly on clean concrete in our basement and we will definitely be purchasing more for the other rooms in our basement! Very happy with the attached padding as well. We weren't sure it would be sufficient as such a great price; but it sure is! Very glad we made the purchase. And; to anyone out there searching; use ebates and get cash back on the big purchase! Plus it ships free to your home! :-)

It fit the need for a basement floor
The Good: The pad is thicker than I thought it'd be and the self adhesive makes installation pretty easy. The not so good: This is a pretty low density carpet, while it looks ok from a distance it's easy to tell up close how thin it is, and you can definitely feel this when walking on it barefoot. While installation is pretty much self explanatory I did notice that depending on which way you lay them (which way the arrows point) affects from which direction you can and can't see the seams, it would have been nice to know this before sticking them all down.

        Low-cost option
The product was very easy to cut and install. The pieces seemed square. The carpet texture is thick and look nice. My main problem was that the threaded carpt doesn't go to the very edge on some pieces on one edge....so there're lines in the carpet and you can see the white mesh backing. If I were to cut these pieces then they wouldn't be square and that would've been a major hassle. But I covered a basement bathroom for $70 and I'm not sure if there was a cheaper option. Not sure if I would recommend this product but I'll check 'yes' anyway.

Why didn't I do this sooner???
I have 5 cats, one a male who had been urinating in my front bedroom. I started looking at this carpet several months ago as it was an economical way to replace the "standard" carpet with tiles that could be changed if they were soiled. I wanted a gray shade, but all the available colors were in the brown / tan range. I called the manufacturer to get a sample and they told me they'd just released a new shade and promised to mail be a sample. After waiting a couple of days, I decided to take a leap and order it knowing that I could return directly to my local Home Depot if I didn't like. Note: I've still not received the sample!! The color is fantastic - a nice dark gray that looks very rich when installed. The tiles go down SO easily and are plenty "sticky". As long as you make sure the arrows are all pointing the same way, the tile seams are almost invisible. The pad is not the thickest, so I placed a layer of underlayment - normally used under hard wood floors - first, so that gives the carpet a little extra padding. The tiles are easy to cut with a good pair of shears. I installed in a 10x10 bedroom - including the underlayment - in probably 3 hours?? I took lots of breaks. I love this carpet.
