I purchased this shower base in the hopes of saving time on two bathroom remodels that I was working simultaneously. This model 54" x 37" no curb barrier free pan was just what I was looking for since I needed an ADA approved product for a VA grant proposal. The base is lite weight and can be easily handled by one person. The drain is preinstalled and easy to connect if there is access from below or not. I really liked the proprietary epoxy that came with it to secure the tile to the pan. However, there should be a note in the product description that this model is not meant for large format tile 12x12 or larger because of the contouring of the pan itself. Also if you have never installed tile on a pre-formed base you might want to call a professional. it adheres to the sub straight with a dry set mortar which needs to be at a specific height for proper installation. This product met most of my needs except it takes more than a day to install if a thin-set mortar is used. They have flashing for the lip that can be purchased that comes precut and ready to install. A bit pricey but well worth the peace of mind knowing that it's truly watertight passed the backer board.
