This light fixture replaced 6 light fixtures in the hallway. The light coming from them is bright and just the way I needed it to be!

The light works well. The only problem is they should let people know that the base of the lamp is oval. By looking at the picture the base looks round.

Bought this for my back entry hall. It's a pretty fixture and gives off quite a bit of light. My only disappointment, as others have stated, is that the top of the fixture is oval and not round, so now I have to have the ceiling painted as the fixture that was their prior had a round base. My electrician had to install it vertically instead of horizontally to cover the electrical wiring box in the ceiling. So, for those reasons, I took away one star. Also, I have to look into buying another bulb to replace the one that I put in there, maybe I'm picky, but I'm not thrilled with seeing the writing on the bottom of the bulb every time I look up.

Lovely-looking light, but I had to return it, because the oval base would have failed to entirely cover the round area where the fixture was to be installed. I did also notice that the frosting on the glass shade was missing from a small part of the rim. In the right setting, I think the light could be very functional and lend style to a room.

I needed light to cover small round opening like previous fixture. I saw nothing detailing that it was oval; but it worked out. Quality is good. Appears as pictured which is good. I had to buy small bulb so it would not protrude below glass shade. A regular bulb is below the bottom.

These lights really are nice. I had no overhead lighting in my living room, and now I do! Love them.

I purchased 4 of these. I especially like that the bulbs are easy to replace. I have two in my kitchen, 1 in a hall and 1 in a bathroom. The lighting is great!

Neither the picture nor the description states that the nickel base is an oval shape and not round. That works for me but it might make a difference to some people. It's very nice looking but I have one reservation. When I removed it from the protective packaging, it looked like the shade was cracked but it really wasn't. There are strange looking lines that resemble cracks randomly scattered on the lower part of the shade that don't appear in the picture or the description, For that reason I might be retuning it.

I wanted a light that wouldn't hang too low as the ceilings in my Cape are not high. This light works perfectly in my upstairs hallway. I use a 60 watt bulb [it can take up to 100 watt] and it provides plenty of light. One thing to note: the base is oval-shaped, not round. I had an electrician install it so I cannot attest to the ease of installation. I ordered it online and received it very quickly.

The view on the internet doesn't make it clear the at fixture bases are oval rather than round. The screw holes to support the base didn't line up with those on my old ceiling plate, so more holes had to be drilled. The circular unit used to support the shade is a lot eaiser to deal with with the traditional screw supports. Bulbs are really easy to access and replace when necessary. The fixture throws off a lot of light.
