The fan is quiet on low. I tried to buy just the motor to fix an old thru the wall fan and found this unit at less cost than replacing a motor. The grill mounting holes do not have enough margin between the fan cut out hole. The drywall plaster cracks along the edge when making the fan cut out and the anchor bolts for the grill mounts are loose being set in the cracked plaster. Time will tell if the mounting will vibrate loose.

Great product. We have a great soapstone wood stove, fan is moving well warm air to the other rooms in our average size house. Install is easy unless you have a lot of framing above your doors. Additional work will be required if you prefer to install an outlet close by the fan. Fan has two speeds of operation and level of noise is acceptable.

This is easy to install and it works wonderfully. There has been some questions as to the noise level. My suggestion is to download a free app on to your phone and see how loud 52 to 55 decibels are (low setting). I did this before buying and then checked it before installing and at about 1 foot away from the fan, it came in at that number. It really is not that loud at all and, like any sound, it drops off the further away you get from it. I put the fan in an office we created in an older building and this is a lot less expensive than the option of moving duct work and a lot less intrusive also. It worked so well, I purchased another one for a different building I have that has a similar issue.

I've had 2 of these running most of the winter for 8 years now. One failed completely but the other one is running strong but is making more noise now than it did when new. It may fail soon as well. I bought this one to replace the one that recently failed and it runs very good and very quiet right now. Not sure of the longevity of this product, but if it lasts another 8 years, it's probably worth the price. Easy to install and easy to operate.

The fans were easy to install and simple instructions to follow. The fans were installed to push heat from my wood stove. the fans are very quite. i installed 2 of these fans in my living room. i have one fan facing my hallway which has stairs to a second level. the other fan is facing my master bedroom. Both areas would be much colder than my living room. with both fans now installed, there is a huge difference. i couldnt sleep in my room due to the cold. now with just this one fan, my room (12×12), is just a few degrees cooler than my living room. if my living room is 72. my room is 67-68. we also have a celing fan at the top of the stairs in my halway. with the fan facing the hallway on and the celing fan....the upstairs is much warmer....i have already recommended these fans to family and friends.....and i will keep doing so for a very long time.

My house is getting old. When built, a 36" refrigerator was common. Now they seem to get bigger and taller. My new one fit so tight in the old spot that it is like a built in. In order to provide circulation and cooling I placed the ThruWall fan behind the refrigerator to exhaust into my entry way which could use some heat. Works great. I got it because it is two speed and can be turned off when not needed. Access to the fan is near the floor in the entry way and it usually is on low speed. The refrigerator is much happier. Easy to install. I did find and unexpected wire in the chosen location, but was able to route it around fan.

The dimensions listed on Home Depots website are inadequate, and because of this, I ended up tearing out 4 sq ft of plaster, and will need to move a stud (see pic). Home Depots website list 'Product Height (in.) 7.625'. I assume it was a 6" duct and roughly 1.5 frame. So, I probed my wall, and found a spot it would fit perfectly! Turns out, the 7.625" is the duct. The frame 9.75" on the entrance side, and nearly 10" on the exit side (motor side). The blade is 6.75". Nice fan ... but when ordering something online, the dimensions need to be stated and clear. I would return it, but the other thru-wall fans have lower CFM's, and my wall is already destroyed.

    Hello,
I do apologize for the confusion regarding the diameter of the actual pipe that goes through the wall. I'll add a bullet point that better describes the diameter of the fan grills and telescoping housing.
    Thanks,

Works well for transferring heat to bathroom from pellet stove.
Needed for transferring heat from hallway to bathroom when door is closed. Temperature is very close to what is in the room with the stove.

      Vent an HVAC utility room
I needed to vent a utility room that housed the HVAC and hot water heater. With the heat running the temperature would easily reach over 100 degrees inside the room. I installed this thru-wall vent and paired it with a Suncourt ductstat plug-in temperature sensor to turn it on and off automatically. The fan keeps the room from going over 87 degrees, which is a huge difference (fan is on high). The power cord is on the front of the fan that exhausts the air. I needed it on the other side and was able to push the cord backwards, cut out a notch in the drywall, and feed it through the wall. The fan is fairly quiet even on high. Overall, I am very pleased with its performance. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because I would have liked the high setting to be a little stronger for my purposes.

        Easy to install
This fan was easy to install. We have a split level and the heat from the pellet stove would not reach the living room. Installed the fan through the living room wall and this fan keeps this room at 63 degrees which is just fine for me.

Bought this to transfer heat from wood stove through wall into our bedroom. Works great. It's been down in the 20's and we've been plenty warm.

The fan works nice but the rivets needed to be ground down because the fan struck them while in motion.

works great, measured airflow is close to claims, a bit lower but close. One potential issue, if you plan to frequently turn it off or change speeds, add an switch to the outlet, when using the built in switch you can see the switch contacts arcing which will be the failure mode. I added a remote control switch to the outlet, easy to turn on/off and no more arcing.
