Childproof open/floating staircase solution
As shown in the photos, these panels are a perfect solution to prevent our granddaughter from slipping through the open riser of our floating staircase. Because the panels are wide, strong, flexible, light-weight, translucent, and easily cut, two of us were able to install them in 1/2 day. Although we purchased them at the Merrifield store, special thanks go to Michael of the Fairfax store for steering us to this solution.

Worked on 1/4" plywood for edge guard
It was a tight fit, but with a small pry bar and a rubber mallet, I was able to fit it as an edge guard on my portable box-fan air filtration unit. Previously the painted plywood base sometimes made scuff marks going through doorways, but no more!

      Sturdy Pergola Cover with Thermoclear
Great as a pergola cover. We cut it in 2 triangles, screwed it into triangle-shaped wood pergola via S/S screws w/ rubber washers. Did not know there is special accessory that fills gap. So we initially used Flex Tape to cover gap/cuts. Yet, tape yellowed within 1 year. So used clear caulk to seal gaps. Attached Vigoro Sturdy Vine plastic anchors to hold vine in place. Yet Vigoro glue doesn't hold anchors to Thermoclear. Please recommend best clear glue for vine anchors. Leezette Lopatic

I used these lexan panels as an alternative cover for four leaking skylights in my commercial building , it was a quick and cheap fix instead of replacing these skylights , this will buy me more time over replacing these units , I had bent up some aluminum trim sheet as a framework for each 4X4 panel and attached these new covers to the existing flashing of the skylights , they're good to go and leak proof now . I can see many uses for them .

Light, strong versatile easy to cut sheets. Extremely satisfied with performance and strength. Selected as replacement 'windows' in old barns and outbuildings. Sheets proved rigid enough to be installed in old window frames as well as custom made new frames. Sheets installed with adhesive managed to keep out of square and or sagging old frames square and true without any signs of flexing or warping. Strong enough to easily withstand bird and bat hits, tested by throwing baseball that bounced off without any sign of damage. Using drywall metal T-square as straight edge guide for utility knife with new blade made cutting relatively easy. Care is required when cutting, especially diagonally, across the Interior walls for precise cuts. Three passes cut best, first cut outer wall, second interior walls and third usually makes final cut with few areas needing a final pass. All cuts made were satisfactory precise, within 1/4" of desired size, using utility knife with angled handle. Sheets provide natural light while adding blurred privacy. Pieces of sheets leftover were cut to fit interior basement window frame. Foam pipe insulation along sheet edge provided a seal. Sheets will add insulating barrier as stated in the product manual, one of the many outstanding performance benefits these sheets have. The performance and ease of use make these sheets suitable for many uses. I expect to order another five pack of these economical practical sheets. The online product manual states the proven excellent durability, weathering, insulating and strength as well as many uses of these sheets. Highly recommend.

Great for projects that need extra stiffness compared to similarly priced solid Lexan. This corrugated material is mostly used for building greenhouses, but the channel/wall design gives it extra stiffness, while being lightweight and affordable. It cuts and drills even easier than solid Lexan because the layers are thin. I was able to bend the material some, but it’s obviously better to bend with the channel direction rather than perpendicular. Our robotics team uses Lexan all the time - we love the light weight, transparency, and ease of working with the material. Plus it’s both cheaper and safer than bending steel or aluminum plate. (See photo). I have put together a quick 2-minute video showing how to cut, drill and bend this material. Note that this is available in different color treatments and sizes: if a 5-pack isn’t what you need, an entire 48x96 sheet will produce a 4-pack when cut for a little less money. Watch for which way you want the channels to run though.

This Review is for Thermoclear Opal Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheet (5-Pk) This is a fair and honest Review of this Product. These Sheets are Strong and are 24 IN. X 48 IN. X 1/4 In. As stated you get a pack of (5). These panels are made of Polycarbonate which in certain thicknesses is bullet proof and have been used for security windows in banks, and other places that need security windows, so you know that you are getting a very strong material. These Lexan Panels are made in a honeycomb design which affords the strength and lightweight for filtering out UV Rays while providing light. My husband and i are thinking of using these sheets for window awnings But there are also many other uses such as a skylights, green house, pergola, patio cover we are also thinking of using them in the windows of our garage doors because we cannot find the proper size of the decorated inserts. Let your imagination run wild with these Thermoclear Panels. Only one side is UV Protected so you must take care to install that side facing the Sun. These Lexan Sheets can also be used inside your home if you have a drop-in ceiling. To replace brittle and crack lighting panels. These Lexan Sheets, meets all of our expectations, we have had them just less then 2 weeks. What we like about these Lexan Sheets is that they are lightweight durable strong and flexible which is what you want. And we expect to find more uses for them. (FYI) Lexan is a registered Brand Name, Polycarbonate is the material compound name. We absolutely recommend this product and our very impress with this product. Returnable is 90 Day

This is a very strong replacement for ceiling lighting. The old overhead lighting sheets were cracking and yellowed made of some type of plastic. These panels are clear and very strong. They will not crack over time you can tell by the feel. The panels are actually two panels (multiwall) connected with seams that run the long way and which makes a visible line pattern within the panel. They are slightly flexible in the 48 inch direction. They are easy to cut also as I used one to make a privacy panel for a window. it is perfect for that type of use.

These Termoclear sheets were exactly ad described. The are strong and flexible. I have used other before and they were easily breakable if needed to bend a little. These are bendable to a degree and heavier that most. They are so much easier to install due to the fact they are much better built than most. I like the look of them as they light comes though very nicely. This is a very good product, strong and durable.

This is a heavy gage panel compared to the cracked ice panel that it replaces. The fixtures that I have are a 2ft X 4ft grid mount. These panels are 2ft X 4ft and won't fit into the existing frame of my fixture. This was easily remedied by cutting 2 1/4 inches off the width and 2 1/8 in off the length. This was easily accomplished by using a table saw with a plywood blade. I was worried about possible chipping when cutting it this way, but I cut four panels without any chipping. Since this is a structural panel you can't cut it by scoring and snapping it like thinner panels. If you have space between your grid and your light fixture these will sit in the grid without any trimming.

high quality lexan panels, corrugated panels like this are very durable and so east to use. simple to cut and fasten. variety of uses is up to you imagination. i like the white color which still allows light to come thru but not the dirt sun and works well for privacy. excellent for a patio cover or deck screening from neighbors etc. many sizes available for easy transport and they come very well packaged if shipping is needed. great product over all. i have not seen any yellowing or discoloration in using the white, the clear i have had one issue with but that could possibly be location and surface it was attached to.

These LEXAN “Opal” multiwall polycarbonate sheets are extremely lightweight weighing in at only 2 lbs. 2.5 ounces on our postal scale (see photo). They are however very strong, rigid and flexible for cold bending. Polycarbonate is so strong it is often used in the manufacture of bullet proof glass and jet aircraft canopies. These “Opal” translucent finished sheets have UV protected from one side only so care should be used when installing (see photo). The sheets are only .24” thick with a honeycomb, double walled construction technique. These characteristics make them ideal for recessed light diffusers, walls for green houses, awnings, sky lights and many other uses. NOTE: The channels on the sheet I received run crossways, not length ways as shown in the photos in the listing (see photo). The sheets have a bullnose on each end of the sheet (see photo). The best way to cut sheets of this thickness is with an electric circular or saber saw with an extra fine tooth blade. The sheets are covered with a protective peel off film (see photo). The film should be left in place and removed after the install is finished to prevent scratches and to be sure the proper side id out for UV protection.

I used this to form the walls of a greenhouse. The material is light and very flexible. It can be bent, with some considerable force, against a straight edge and will fold but not crack. For the roof I used a single piece bent in half over a 2x4. Seems very sturdy. My only issue was cost, but this was the cheapest clear material I could find.

Really nice product, wish it could be made for cheaper but it is comprised of post-consumer waste which is a great green bonus. I used it for a 4-ft wide outdoor closet door, owner wanted a way to lock up garden tools hanging on the side of his shed, and I thought with the lightweight and durability of this it would make an excellent door panel that would require minimal framing and cross support. It's translucent, so it doesn't hide his tools unless he decides to paint over it, but it's UV blocking so it does keep them protected from sun damage. Check out the photos (pre-paint), it worked perfectly!

I am 80 years old and was looking for hurricane window protection that I could install myself . These panels are light ,easy to cut , and ,being Lexan, tough. I used expanding rustproof rods and swim pool spaghetti to hold them firmly in place. I'm a happy customer.

I first discovered this item while searching for a sound attenuation product for a client. He wanted to block the street noise from his apartment window. Overall he was happy with it and said it did reduce some noise. I can't attest to that but I liked the idea of the filtered lighting aspect so I gave it a try, especially since he let me have his when he moved. I do like this product. I use it over two of my bedroom windows which face the street and one which faces the side of the neighbor's house. I love natural sunlight and like to keep my blinds and shade open so this blocks the view nicely so that no one can see inside, or at least the view is skewed enough that they can't see details. It still lets a lot of light in. I also thought this product might be good to add an extra layer of insulation to the windows. The verdict is out on that but I guess it can't hurt anything since placing it over the window is adding another barrier from the sun, wind, etc. My only two gripes are the cost and the size. I have three 29x58 windows that I needed to cover. But because of the cost, I decided to only buy two of these and add them on top of the ones I already had. The two pieces that I purchased left me with a lot of extra material after I cut out the 29x58. The rest I didn't use and now sits in the shed. I wish they offered smaller or different sizes. At close to $90 a pop, this thing is not cheap; especially if you're going to have extra material left over that you have no real use for. Also, this thing is HUGE. It comes in a box that will not fit on top of your car. At best, it will fit awkwardly on top of a minivan or in the back of a long bed truck. I had mine picked up by a friend with a moving van. Otherwise, I would have had to cut it in the store myself (which I did for my client and Home Depot scoff ed at) or pay for home delivery, which is more money. Maybe Lexan will reconsider this for those with smaller projects.

Purchased the Lexan to replace a grill gazebo roof that had been damaged by a tree limb. The product arrived at the store well packaged and quickly. I cut the 4 x 8 sheet into 5 panels and replaced them without much issue. I cut the panels using an Avanti 7 1/4" OSB/Plywood 140 tooth blade also purchased at Home Depot. The new material appeared to be the same as the original.

I closed in my back porch and used three sheets of Thermoclear Multiwall Polycarbonate on the roof, making it a nice sunroom. In the winter we grew cucumbers, various greens and herbs in there. I've attached a picture. I'm in the process of building a roof over a larger porch, using 5 sheets to cover a 10X16 deck. I don't have a picture of that one yet. Some day I want to build a greenhouse with the same stuff.

The thermoclear poly sheet was the perfect solution for my solar furnace. I just wish it came in smaller sheets. At 48 by 96 it was a bit too big and I had to waste quite a bit of material that I paid for.

            corrugated polycarbonate
I bought this product thinking that it was a sheet of solid polycarbonate. I wasn't sure what the description meant by "multiwall," and the pictures only gave a thumbnail sized view (it looks like it has recently been updated and is easier to see zoomed in), so I was a bit surprised when my order arrived. If you are familiar with the product coroplast, that is what this is, except made of polycarbonate. For what it is, it is a pretty cool product. Very light, and relatively transparent (the plastic is very transparent, but the ridges diffuse the light a bit). It was easy to cut...score with a utility knife, bend and score the back to separate. I rated the value a bit lower, because it seems kind of high priced for a multiwall product. I attached a few pics so you can see how it handles light. I used it for a phone booth I was making for a stage sketch. Wall on the right is standard polycarbonate, the back walls are with this multiwall product.
