The wood was covered with green plastic stuff and the directions didn't say to leave it on or remove it. The wood was not prepared for the weather and the directions didn't say to stain/paint the wood before assembly. I was not prepared for that. Overall the swingset is great. The set came with all the drill and screw bits. That was great.

Pine Bluff comes with the wood except the 4x4's. We do sell a version of the Pine Bluff with green color Wood Guard 4x4 post. If you have those please make sure you do not remove the green plastic coating. That is part of the wood. SwingnSlide

Amazing! Excellent 5 stars. After exhaustive research from every set on the market we landed on this one and couldn't be happier. Perfect price and it's in constant use. Very sturdy! Took some putting together, but it was worth it, as any set would be. No need for a fort or castle, simple is better, more imagination for the kids, and it's perfect! They love it, we love it. Watch your pocket book, save a little space, go with the Pine Bluff Swing Set. No regrets at all. Great warranty and great customer service, too!

Not too tough to put together if you have several people to line up the boards to drill. Kids love it. Sturdy.

Directions were not very clear and almost none of the holes were predrilled. It took 4 adults about 8 hours to assemble. That said, it is a very nice and very sturdy set. Looks like a high quality piece of play equipment. Very pleased with the purchase!

This would have been a 5 star rating if they would have pre-drilled holes on the top main beam. Make sure you have a good drill for the 3/8' holes and a spare bit might come in handy..Took me and my son in law a good 4 hours to put this together.Find some 1' and 1/2' spacers to put the deck and climbing wall up .It will save you some time. The material on this slide is top notch. I would recommend a spare Torx 20 bit too and you will use mostly 21/2' screws so a screw sleeve attachment will keep that screw from wobbling on you.Good luck and measure the top main beam precisely.

It took my husband most of a Saturday to put this together. It would have gone a lot quicker had the upper bar been predrilled. The plans said 1/2" but it's more like 3/4" for spacing, etc. I would lay everything out first. I sanded and stained the pine with a few coats of Thompson's water seal and it's helped a lot to prevent slivers with the kids. I would recommend doing that.Overall this swing set is perfect for our kids. They are ages 4 and 7. We have a very small backyard and it fits nice. It was hard to find something small enough to fit and that would also be sturdy and last a few years with older kids. We did have an issue with shipping (not everything was shipped to us and it was a huge hassle getting it all sorted). But Home Depot was very helpful and we had great customer service with them. It was just the shipping company (Estes) that were terrible!

Happy with the set, but it would be nice if the entire set was covered in plastic. Knew what I was ordering so that's not a negative just a suggestion. All wood items were the correct size and easily identified in the instructions. Took an experienced handy man and myself 4 hours to assemble, no breaks either. Did not receive all the wood screws, lags and Hex Bolts shown in the instruction manual, as being part of the set. Called Set's cust. service and they had additional hardware kit to me in two days, so great response. Have two new swings for possible future use due. However, the hardware was for another set, but was able to work with it rather than wait for another replacement. So all in all happy with the purchase.

    Ok swingset
The plastic coated beams are nice. The 10'beam could have came predrilled IMO. The pine wood is actually from the pine bluff playset and doesn't say if it's pretreated for ground contact AT ALL. No one will complete this playset in 1 1/2 hrs. Seems like bare minimum effort on the manufacturers part for a $600 basic swingset. On a side note the delivery driver for LTL was 110% helpful and courteous.

Unless you can drill a perpendicular 3/8 hole in a 4/4, I highly suggest a drill press. I also used a drill press to pre-drill all the 2 X 4’s, deck boards, and climbing boards. By having a straight hole slightly smaller than the screw body to start with, I had no issues with the screws going in. I chose the plastic clad (Tuff Wood) uprights and swing beam. You will still have to paint the 2 X 4’s, deck boards, and climbing boards. I also plan to paint the hardware on top of the swing beam. Instructions were clear with only a few modifications needed. 3 Hours of marking and pre-drilling all the holes on a drill press, another 3 hours of two people putting it together. The instructions said it would take 2 people 2 hours. I am satisfied with the results and so were my 4 testers.

        Meh.
We have a small backyard and even smaller budget. I needed something that would fit both, as well as withstand my rowdy child. I also needed something I could assemble without losing my mind. This product was disappointing. Quality: The pine boards included were knotty and rough. Two split during assembly. The plastic covered beams are a cedar composite, not solid wood as stated in the product description. Several of the provided screws snapped during assembly, and the provided drill bit was stripped after the first A frame. Instructions: Confusing and required guess work. Several components of this set could be purchased individually. This resulted in a "master" set of directions that came with the set, and lots of "other" directions, that came with each component. These two sets frequently contradicted each other greatly. The individual directions did state to follow the master directions if purchased as part of a set, but the master directions were often vague, sometimes just a picture of an item and two bolts(which bolts? Where do they go? Do I predrill?). Additionally, these individually packaged components came with more hardware. Sometimes we used what came with the parts, sometimes what came with the set. Last, but certainly not least, when you first open the set, you have lots of bags of hardware and screws. These are not labeled in any way, nor do they match the pictures in the directions where the included items are listed. We had to measure each screw and bolt type, determine at what point we would need them, then sort and label it ourselves. This took two adults three days to assemble. We worked for about 3 hours each day (until it got dark). My son loves it, thankfully. I anticipate needing to replace several boards next season due to the poor quality. I highly recommend you allow yourself one day at the beginning to stain all the pine boards. It would have been easier to do that first.

This instructions included are not great which makes assembly a bit of a pain, but once together it is a really solid, good quality playset. My kids (ages, 10, 9, 4) love it!

          Solid playset
Put together by myself in about 6 hours. Probably could of been quicker but wasn't in a rush. Came out really nice and my 2 year old loves it. We have a small yard so this fits great. Seems really solid compared to some of the others our friends have. I can see this swingset lasting a long time. Delivery was great as well. No complaints.

            Swing set
Some of the parts were not included which builder did not document as we went. Included drill bit for one odd size bolt but not another odd one. Claims to be able to assemble in one hour and that is UNTRUE. Took my builder 2 days and help as it was too heavy to lift by himself. Because l ordered the plastic coated 4x4's, they were a little thicker and some of the bolts/screws were not long enough for the nuts to connect. We had to buy extra parts. It is wonderful and will last a long time, but the claims were a bit off!

            Only purchase full play set.
The only way to purchase Pine Bluff is to purchase the entire set. The Pine Bluff without the lumber is nothing more than a few swing hangers (not swings) and some of the hinges. If you want the swing set with slide, swings and climbing wall, you have to buy the whole set. That said, we love this playset. We are just disappointed that the pricing was misleading with the other one.

            Good purchase
Nice that it is a complete set. Instructions are easy to follow, but count on it taking longer to assemble than what is said in the manual. Nice product, however a few boards were split and will have to replace them. Would recommend using larger screws than what comes with the kit. Both my children love playing on the swing set.

Some various pieces were missing or warped therefore I needed to purchase additional or better replacements. I should have built it myself.

            Nice swing set.
Overall this is a very nice swing set. First, the instructions say 1 1/2 hours, but plan for at least 4 hours if not more. We installed this on uneven ground so it took quite a bit longer for us. The instructions also say you need a carpenter's square but what it shows pictured is not a carpenter's square but just a regular square. Also, you will need 3" wood screws for figure 2 when you install frame braces. We were disappointed to find that one of the 2"x4"x25" boards was only 24" so we had to run to the lumberyard. So, measure all your boards before you start so you don't have to get more supplies during the middle of your project. (Pick up some 3" wood screws while you are out.) We also replaced one of the 2"x4"x47" boards because it was warped. Keep in mind that the drilling of holes in the top beam is really a job for an experienced carpenter. Check out some of the other reviews for tips on drilling up through the braces so your holes are spaced properly. At the very least double check the measurements of the holes in your installed braces so you can drill the holes correctly spaced. Ours were at least 1/2" different than the instructions said. If we had followed the spacing instructions we would have had to caulk and re-drill holes. Still, this is a really great swing set and my daughter loves it.
