Poor design - the gear ratio makes it harder to reel in than standard side handle models - plus the plastic gearing is not very durable - after 2 seasons (with garage storage over the winter), the gear teeth broke, as did the side handle bracket. Got this for my wife to be able to better handle the 150 ft hose. Oh well - it's the thought that counts, right?

After hooking up to water and turning it on it came apart

Cheap piece of junk, started falling apart as soon as I took it out of the box. The shaft supposedly to keep the hose reeling in evenly keeps popping out of the bushing meant to hold it. During retrieval of the hose, the crank mechanism works much too hard and the panel on top keeps coming apart under stress. This is one of the worst lawn & garden investments I have ever made in my life. I will never buy anything from Suncast again.

the handle was to hard to turn

Finally wore out the original one, which was no less than 5 years old, after daily use. Replacement had to be of the same caliber.

Product arrived quickly and well packed...Opened it..Though my hose rolled onto the reel very easily...Couldn't pull it back out at all...I had read a few similar reviews but with the majority of them good I decided to try it anyway...Bad Decision...Took It back to a local store for refund...Would not recommend...

I am 6' and 190 LBS and found it hard to reel the hose in. I have had the product a week and will be replacing this soon. Total waste of money!

Makes it real handy to reel in hose with handle raising in height. Work great, and even work on the low side for my daughter. Great product.

Plastic guide kept falling off. Reel for for hose only lasted 1 season.

Only lasted one season,couldn't hold up. The inside is to cheap. Hard to reel in with a lot of hose.

This is what I was looking for, holds a lot of hose, handle being high is easy on the back, hose rolls up easy. Small storage is helpful also.

My older hose winder from the same company lasted us for over 15 years. This new one does not suggest such quality. Although I like the higer crank set up it seems flimsy. If it last half as long it will be suprising.

Tried two of these, they both were so poorly manufactured the hose would not start properly on the reel outlet. Took the second one back and myself and 2 store employees tried the new short hose that came with it, would not thread on properly. We had an Ames hose reel for 10 years before it broke, we're going back to that brand.

I'm 5foot 10 and weight 240lbs. I had 200 foot of hose on the reel and it was very hard to reel in for me. It needs to be fastened down to reel out I had to have my kids sit on it so I could unreel it.I have a nice size garden and this product was not made for real work every day.If using for small garden or for flower where you don't use a lot of hose it will work well for you. So I return it and bought metal landscaping reel.

This reel works. I have 100ft of hose on it and I have no problem reeling it in. It works great every time I use it and I tell my guy I love it every time I use it. If it breaks I'm buying another one..

It comes fully assembled. Easy hookup. I love it. The extended handle is great to use.

I purchased this model because it had the Smart Track hose guide , and Easy Reach rewind handle. I purchased a good rubber hose that would not kink. I also purcased a 6ft. leader hose . The one that came with unit was only 5ft.long.

I purchased 2 of these hose reels, one for the frontyard and one for the backyard. The raised crank feature was great and it looked really nice. The guide did a perfect job of winding up the hose. However, It was impossible to pull the hose out. I had to crank backwards while pulling on the hose. My strong son was able to pull the hose out, but I'm not as strong as he is.. It takes way too much muscle to use this hose reel, so I returned them to Home Depot. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're very strong.

Needed 2 purchases...1st arrived misassembled and damaged...2nd was satisfactory. Unit is too lightweight to remain stationary when pulling hose out over any distance greater than 10'...unit can be "staked" to ground (not concrete) but gee, that would kill the grass beneath. Not very desirable. When reeling in the hose, still too lightweight...unit walks all over the place. Every hose connection leaks. Greatest redeeming quality is the ujnit simply looks good. Poor Performer...certainly not worth the relatively high cost.

This hose reel is sturdy and operates with less effort than other reels that I have owned. I am handicapped and require a wheelchair. This raised winding design allows me to wind up tne hose on my own.
