Not much to say about using it if you've ever used one. Understanding the 2 modes was the only learning curve at first but easily figured out the first time using it. Thought the deep structure scan wasn't working any better than the cheaper brands/models when installing a towel bar above the fiberglass shower stall on a sheetrock wall. Until I realized the erroneous readings were due to backer plywood behind the sheetrock. It did locate a stud but the centerline moved ~1/2" during multiple scans.

Made Instalation of wall mount 75 inch TV and concealment of wires very easy.

Let's just say I wasn't too thrilled that I drilled a 3/16" hole right through a sewage drain line. It'll find studs too, but use caution that it is only detecting density and does not know if a "stud" is actually a stud or not.

This Stud sensor is amazing, it is so easy to use, its very precise in finding the studs and the light (sensor) is nice and bright. it sensors live electric wiring in wood or metal studs. and with the V marker its easy to mark the spot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Zircon Studsensor HD70 is a handy device. It is lightweight and the power button is in a convenient place. The display is bright and lights up nicely. It emits a loud sound when the center of the stud is found. A nice feature is the icon to let you know when it detects live wires. It worked on drywall but was a little inconsistent. I found that when scanning it didn't detect any stud and when I moved it up a few inches over the same area it finally picked up the stud. This was in a newly remodeled room and I know that there was nothing behind the wall that could interfere. As noted in the instructions it may have trouble locating studs in a high textured area and on plaster. I did find that it couldn't pick up the stud on the plaster very well. Sometimes it would start to sense the edge of the stud and then it would go blank. Overall this device is handy for simple use such as needing to hang home decor but I would recommend that a person check both above and below the area when searching and coming up with no stud and you know one should be close.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wanting a stud sensor for awhile now, because my walls are so thin that I have a hard time with things falling off the wall if they're not nailed into a stud. So I'm really glad I got this! And it is a really nice stud sensor. It not only finds the stud, but it's got a wire warning, which is really awesome. It's got backlighting/illumination, which is also nice. And there's a notch at the top of the device to help you mark the middle of the stud once it's detected. It slides easily along the wall and is super easy to use. I really like it a lot and can't wait until I have something new to hang! I'd definitely recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My life has forever been changed with this Zircon-Studsensor HD70 Onestep tool. In the past I was guilty of piercing multiple unnecessary wholes in my walls in hope of finding a stud. I then invested in a no name finder and was unimpressed; I received missing markings etc. With my Zircon stud finder, it comes equipped with a light up reading panel on it’s face for speed and accuracy; it notifies you when there is electricity nearby and the leveling tool is a much need accessory for precision. I have since hung several pieces on my walls have were in storage because I needed the right tools for the job. I am beyond a satisfied consumer, this finder has revolutionized my hanging methods.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this Stud sensor. I used it to install my climbing hang board. If you need to install something on the wall that is heavy, you need this sensor. It is user friendly. It only has one key and by moving it around it will find the center. One good feature is alarming the AC wire which can help to avoid electrocution.

This is a vast improvement over early Zircon sensors, which I've used for many years. The new backlit display and target spotlight are clear and give enough info for the average DIY homeowner at an excellent price. It's more accurate and shows both wood and metal stud edges and center. There is a hot wire warning display.

Absolutely worthless. I realized it wasn't working after I drilled the second pilot hole with no stud in sight. I ended up having to just play a guessing game until I located it myself (3 inches over from where it said it was). Don't waste your money.

Works as advertised. There's a small 16th of an inch to 1/8 inch variance for dead center of a stud. But that still is plenty close enough for me to do what I need to do..

Was reading studs that where not there I just drilled holes in the wrong spot and now I have to repair them what a waste of $30

Has been great so far with the few projects that we have used it for in the 2 weeks we’ve had it. Like any stud finder you have to double check before you drill. We like the center of stud indicator.

The sensor will show you are on a stud but when you remove the sensor and apply to the same spot you get no reading. I was unable to locate a wood stud behind 5/8" drywall with this product. I had to return this to the store.

My oldstud finder went missing so I went down to Home Depot to pick this one up for a few projects. It failed on me indoors to hang a mirror so I used the hammer and small nail techniqueto see what I had in the drywall to hang my mirror. I have been trying to use it in the garage to hang up a gear track. It is very inconsistent and I have marks all over the wall where it has shown me stud centers in different locations with every scan. Sometimes the scan will go right over one of the marks and not beep at all. It seems to show me one thing at one place and another time will show me something at another place or not at all. Very frustrating and I plan to return this piece of junk. My photo attached will show all the marks it showed me as stud center each time.

So like others have mentioned in their review, this stud finder has it plusses and negatives, let's start with the plusses. First, it's a bit larger than my others, so it's easier to hold. The screen is bright and very simple to read, and when you pass over a stud, it lights up like a chrismas tree, so you will definitely know when your over one. It tells you when you are directly centered over the stud, or if you are only on the edge, and I love the little lightning icon that let's you know if you are near an electrical outlet. Now, with all that being said, there are a few things they may need to fine tune. The first is what other are also having trouble with, and thats being inconsistent. I will run this over the wall and will say there is a stud, but run it over the same spot and nothing. Once you find a stud, the light (arrow ) only stats on for a few seconds then flickers instead of keeping a solid beam. The other thing that I noticed is that if you are not eye level with the screen, you can't read it as the reading dissappears. If this was more consistent, I would have given this a 5 srar all day long, but I still think that it needs more work.

I bought this stud finder to locate the middle of the stud. I marked out 20 stud centers. 4 out of 20. 20% accuracy won't cut it.

I keep getting the low battery sign no matter how many times I change the battery, In my last few projects it probably has only picked up 1 stud out of 5 attempts

It showed stud but after drilling there was no stud. I spent the extra money for this one so that wouldn’t happen and still it was inaccurate. Very disappointed

I had such high hopes for this tool. It's most definitely not as accurate as they claimed. Took multiple attempts and holes in my wall before we got it right.

Screen is difficult to see unless unit is directly in front of eyes. If the unit is above or below eye level, then the LCD screens becomes very difficult to see. Does find a stud and active powder.

Bought and returned. The tool implied it could work through any density of wall materials, however I needed to find a stud through a rosin shower wall, and this couldn't tell me anything. Works fine for sheetrock, but so do cheaper models.

After finding the center of a stud and marking it, there is a larger than ideal degree of variance when going back over the same stud to reconfirm. Pretty disappointed.
